Kind Of Bummed That You Left Out Lexington Kentucky

jengrl's picture

I was kind of bummed that you left out Lexington Kentucky from Sarah's tour. I guess a 23,000 seat arena like Rupp is not a big enough venue for her. Oh Well!!!!

Southern States

Time was very limited as to where she could go. I had about two weeks where she could travel before school starts, and I opted to head to the northeast because of some other things that will be happening in the story. After school starts, she has a few more weekend gigs at places closer to home.

Sarah will likely come through the south sometime over the winter or early next year. You weren't forgotten, I promise. There just wasn't enough time in the schedule to go everywhere.

Lexinton Kentucky?

Isn’t that in S.E. Asia?

It's a bit out of the way?

Me, I'm hoping that you add Alabama to the tour. But I know that tours can take unexpected detours, so I'm not worried because I love the storyand having her stop here is fun to think about. And is that your autograph in the title?

Tour Schedule is Sensible

Good job! There are a couple of geographic jumps (NYC to Morrison to Allentown to Missoula) which may tire Sarah, but a few days (NYC) for fun too. Will the record producers give her decent transportation? Ticket costs will run from low of about $25 (fairs) to around $90 for Radio City (Sheryl Crow prices for 9/2010) Both the venues and probable costs are in line with Sarah's target audiences. One might quibble that here or there would be an improvement, but in reality when you assemble a tour, all venues are not open on the dates you need them. (There's always next year!)

When do the tickets go on sale?

Jumps.

Megan (the author) notes in another response here that the concerts after mid-August are all happening around Megan (the character's) school schedule.

So the relevant factor during that stretch is the distance to each venue from Southern California rather than between one location and another. (If the backup band's still expected to follow on the road, though, the three 2000-mile weeks may be less enjoyable, though certainly doable.)

Not sure where Tuesday 9/14 fits in schoolwise, but it's a relatively quick drive (525 miles) from Missoula for the band, and less than a two hour flight (after school?) from LAX to SLC for Megan, if they don't want her to stay out and miss school on Monday.

Nicely done, anyway.

WeeHoo...

Can't wait for the concert!

You know, there really is one. I wish I could go down there and buy tickets. :)

Maybe next year Sarah can start a little earlier...

I'm Disappointed

It doesn't appear that SARAH is coming to Canada at all!!! There are 3 to 5 sites here that would be quite favourable to perform in. Maybe next tour, eh?

I'm disappointed too...

There are so many places that I wished I could have Sarah perform. There just wasn't enough time. She also started late in the season because she was new on the music scene. That definitely didn't help.

This is just the first set of concerts that she is going to perform. Even then, they only run into September. There is still plenty of time left in the year to perform in other places, and this list will definitely not be the only concerts that she performs before the end of the year.

As for Canada...

My dad was born and raised in Edmonton. I spent a fair share of my summers in Calgary while growing up. I never got the chance to live in the country, but everywhere we traveled was so beautiful. I have two places in the world that I would describe as paradise, and Banff is one of them. Heck, I even rooted for Canada in the men's gold medal hockey game during the Olympics! Canada was definitely not overlooked and I definitely considered taking her there. Just like I considered heading south. Sarah got a passport in Chapter 1 of book 2 for the sole purpose of being able to travel and perform outside of the U.S. It will just take a little time for her to get there.

I know that there are many places that people want her to come. I'm sorry that I couldn't fit all of those places into the story right now. I'm sure is the same scenario that any recording artist that goes on tour faces. Most major artists get 30+ venues to perform at on their concert tours. Sarah only gets 13 for now. But there were be other performances.

Calgary!

My nephew won the championship at the Calgary Stampede.

Not bad for an Aussie!

Ahhh.

Already missed out on the NYC Area concerts. Though, Allentown's not that far away. LOL

Canadian Venues

Here in Toronto Ontario we have quite a few venues that are big, some examples are The Molson Amp Theater, Air Canada Center, Massy Hall to name a few. The Molson Amp Theater is an outdoor venue so for a winter tour it would be best at either Massy Hall or schedule around the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors as they play their games at the Air Canada Center, Also there is Copps Colosium in Hamilton.

St. Louis, MO Edward Jones Dome or Scott Trade Center (I'd take the Scott Trade Center home of the St. Louis Blues (Our hocky team) concerts are held there all the time.) Very Very few at the dome.

The Utah concert, hum?

Will her number one fan Megan be there with her parents?

Or is it also a ploy to show Josh what he's missing?

I would have suggested some Wisconsin venues like Alpine Valley, The Riverside Theater, The Bradley Center or Summerfest -- the Marcus Amphitheater there is huge --, but Summerfest is late June to early July though the Amphitheater right on Lake Michigan gets used most of the summer. Megan needs time off to heal from the surgery and to work on a bigger list of songs and dance moves to fill a full concert. That will take time. Oh, will word of the surgery leak out and the press assume she was in for either cosmetic surgery, IE a boob job, OR for an abortion of Josh's baby?

The State Fair gigs sound good. Demi Lovoto from the Disney film Camp Rock performed at the 2009 Wisconsin State Fair just before her 17th birthday so fairs and the big theme parks like Six Flags would fit Sarah's target audience. Look at Demi's 2009 summer tour for some suggestions.

I would love to *see* Sarah at Summerfest as both Britney S and Christina A have been scheduled for Summerfest but backed out at the last minute. You could even have fun with that.

Wonder if the kids at her school will figure out Megan is Sarah? What will their reaction be?

But the main thing is you have fun writing this.

STL question

What about the old Riverport Amphitheatre? (or whatever it is called now) been to over 10 concerts there, but had more fun off to the right of the stage on the hillside :)
Would love to see Sarah there!

Awesome

This is one of the most awesome stories I have read on this site. I could not put it down, so to speak. I read it straight through in one sitting.

Thanks

Houston

Not sure if you've been given Houston locations. Since you wanted amphitheaters, there is the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion though it is large (17,000 seats). If you want a smaller venue, there is the Verizon Wireless Theater (holds 2815 for a concert) but it is an indoor theater. If you are planning for next summer, there is a concert downtown all day, July 4, held outdoors.

i thought this was fiction

I thought this story amd the chariter of magon/Sarah was purely fictional.
are you now telling that ther eis such person semaler to Milely was also Hanna Montona
even she preformed in live concderts??
because i'm finding it hard by these other post from the other reader of this
story if it's fictional or what.?.
But something tells me yes it is purely fictional and fantasy the writer wishes was her life.
even though the writer used her own name for that of the main chariter I think that where it ends.
And yes i will admitt that like most of in transgender community we wish could maybe live adoudle life and have parnets that are accepting Megan's//Sarah's were.
But in the real world most have to hid are true selfs from our frinds and family.
For fear of being dis-owned and excuded from family gathering and stuff like that.
One final thought Magon you wrote one of stories i ever came cross.
and i hope you plan on writing a follow up story. like Sarah Carerra the movie or tv star.

It is odd for me

This was published in 2010, and yet in 2023, Sarah would be nearly 30.
