There was a surprise cross-reference in Temptation of Anya - Part 3, but apparently nobody noticed it, or if they did notice, they didn't comment or PM me about it. DID anyone notice it, or was I too subtle? I thought it was as blatant as a 2x4 across the forehead!

Which one?

Star Trek, Star Wars, RL ("And I need to get that paperwork done today!") or something else?

Great story BTW. Anya, like the rest of us, won't be young forever.

Mind you Elrod pM'd me a whopping great hint...

IE approx. where in the chapter and what story *universe* Anya dreamt of.

BIG HINTS, elrod described in Anya's drean a short-ish, almost white skinned, sensual moving sexpot who triggered intense LUST in Anya and talked about lust, desire. Yet another was a tall elfin redhead...

Whatel.... what story universe? Hum???

-- snicker --

On looking back at the passage Elrod HAD whacked us with a literary 2X4.

I was wondering if any one would get it

Maggie like it, and since it was only a dream-sequence, I figured what-the-heck? I had fun with that one. I'm glad someone noticed; I was afraid that it wouldn't be noticed.

Well it helped

That I just wrote about Jade destroying the Human race.

Yeah, I read that

Pretty anti-canon, don't you think? And the ultimate in UV, too.
A wee bit of gratuitous violence, but it was interesting that they got the ultimate Dark Jade scenario..

I decided to wait and see others comments first

Elrod and I discussed the characters prior. I told him I had just finished reading Maggie Finson's Fey stories a week or so before. All the actors and actresses were fresh in my tiny little brain. I read Anna's dream sequence as that. A dream sequence.

Not wanting to spoil it for everyone I waited to see who would clue in. In story book time, Maggie's Fey should be history as she has been silent for too long now. Not surprisingly, Fey is going to hang in reader's minds forever and never be history, kinda like Wonder Woman.

I did 'apply' to be a canon author for the "Whateley: The Next Generation", or reboot, or whatever. I know what Maggie intended for Fey, and I suggested to her that if my FanFic character were to become canon (either orig or next-gen), then I could see a future Fey/Kayda story where Kayda finds something that is important to Fey, and the two have a mystery / adventure. It would be an absolute joy to write such a tale with Maggie.

Fey is such an integral part of TK that it's hard to look at stories without her. I wish (as do many others) that Maggie would write another Fey tale or two (or a dozen). we can but cross our fingers and hope.
