Thank you everyone for reading, voting and commenting on Cynthia and the High School Years - Part 1. When I conceived this little series of stories I knew I was going to take it to where the story is at the moment. The early emphasis of the story was on the male to female transformations; however, I knew that one of the most important events would be a female to male transformation. A major thought was that it was the person inside, not necessarily their physical being, that mattered. I also knew that there are many of you who sympathize with the FTM or are perhaps one. I hope I handled it tastefully. I am surprised that there were no comments about that.
I found it interesting that when I stopped dealing with transformations to little girls and age regression that the readership and voting fell off. I might deal with that aspect in other stories; however, it won't be the major aspect as this story continues. I have a feeling that if I didn't throw in a few more MTF transformations that I would lose my readership entirely. If it is important to the story, there will be more. In fact there are some early on in Part 2. Why they happened is more important than the fact they did happen.
The more important story line is the relationship between Cindy and Don, Andy and Bobbie, Avery and Myrna, and all the families. Very important is The Wizard. Some have said The SRU Wizard is passe. Perhaps he realizes this; after all, he is more than 900 years old.
There is something very big going on, and it involves many individuals from The Wizard's world, wherever that is. It also involves the future of witchcraft and wizardry in Cindy's world.
Part 2 is well underway. We have to remember that our main characters are now young adults. In fact, as far as their experience is concerned, Cindy and Don are well into adulthood as far as the number of years they have experienced. As I said, the work on Part 2 continues. It is at about 15,000 words at this time, and will probably be as long or longer than Part 1. There will be a lot of fantasy, and not all of it will deal with magic. I expect it may be completed by April or May. We'll just have to see.

I Know A Few FTM's
I know a few FTM's and they all tell me that they always knew there was something wrong and fought with their mother's every time they tried to put them in dresses. One thing that Don/Donna said was that she/he didn't really have any angst about being Donna and could have been happy either way. Don then says that deep inside he always knew he should have been a boy. The two statements are kind of confusing. If Donna had really been transsexual, I would have expected some display of discomfort about being in the wrong body long before. It seemed like Donna didn't seem to be bothered about being a woman, but she jumped right in when The Wizard suggested the sex change to a man and doesn't seem to have a problem. I guess knowing that as Don, he and Cindy could marry and have kids of their own helped make the decision, but it is just not the usual route FTM's usually go as far as making the instant switch from FTM and immediately accepting it. I would think it would be a period of adjustment not unlike the gradual process of a normal transition. They have to learn how to socialize as males much the same way we learn how to going the other way. It would seem to me that by telling Bobbie about what was going on would have created paradox in itself, because she would still remember Donna just the same way as Cindy. The Wizard was mean to erase Donna from existence while still allowing Cindy, Bobbie and her mother to remember who she was. It was mean to put Cindy through all of that without letting her know what happened until after it was over. I don't trust The Wizard's ultimate motives going forward. It is seems like he gets some sort of thrill in playing games with people's lives. I guess I just can't get the picture of the SRU Wizard of the past and the other stories in which he has wreaked havoc. Hopefully, It turns out better in the long run.

You made some very good points, and I might have to go back and clarify some of the statements. I think Donna was a bit ambiguous about her gender until Cindy came into the picture. I'm sure that The Wizard planted some seeds of doubt or perhaps awaked some subconscious thoughts. Bobbie and a few other do remember Donna. With three exceptions, they are all magical. By that point the essential parts of the two universes were welded/stitched back together to become one universe. The Wizard is a major player, but he is definitely not in charge as we will see in Part 2 and later. There are several echalons of command higher than he.
Here's a little tidbit from Part 2:
“This is a happy night, Wolf. I think things are finally back on track.â€
“I can’t believe you were spying on them. Surely, you knew that you had nothing to worry about.â€
“Wolf, our hopes rest in those two. I wish them all the happiness in the universe, and I don’t think we will have to worry about a thing. Still, I needed to know that all the trouble we’ve gone through is going to work out.
“I imagine they’re celebrating up at HQ right know. Fuck ‘em, to use the vernacular; those two kids deserve to be happy. We put them through hell to make up for our mistakes, and now we can take a little rest. We’re going to have a lot on our plates for the next few years. Let’s enjoy some peace.â€

Another thought
You made a good point about socializing as a male, and that was what I had Don doing for seventeen years. He spent seventeen years growing up again before he even knew he had been Donna. The Wizard had hidden those memories of Donna from him until just before he returned to Cindy. I think that accomplished what you are talking about.

I commented to Portia while editing about FTMs ...
When I saw Cindy's attitude early in 'High School Years', I told Portia:
"I know about 6 F2Ms fairly well, and one, very well. He was our house guest for about 4 months when a mistake, ( giving a friend a roof for 3 days, cost him his section 8 housing. ...
My orientation, ... is MTF, but I sympathize just as much with FTMs. My main support group is named Transwomen's Support, but we welcome F2Ms as well, and family's and friends, and people that seem to be seriously questioning.
As far as my comment, I've always had the feeling Cindy is open to the entire LGBT spectrum, until that point. So I am not sure what goal you are striving for."

"I love your comment about not being fair to the FTM. Gotcha! That is the major point of Part 1 and Part 2. If that bothered you, then I am doing the right thing. This has been my goal since I began this series and I have been working toward the major event in this story the entire time.
Because of my MTF orientation, I almost cried out loud when I saw real life FTM transexuals who were so beautiful as women, but had to match their inner selves. Well, that's what happens in this story. It is not that simple a change, though, as you will see. Leave it to The Wizard and his group to come through with the correct solution."
At that point, I had not gotten through all of the chapters, as is fairly obvious by my comment, but I had received the entire story, so I know she had the ending in mind long before my comment. I just hadn't gotten that far, yet.

Male to female or female to male, we are all in the same boat and hopefully rowing the same direction. Either way a person goes, there is always going to be others out there that are going to hate you, despise you and do everything in their teeny, tiny minds to mess over your life simply because you don't fit into their pre-conceived mold as to what a woman or man should be. I did enjoy and loved your story, as it showed that people are people regardless of their gender and who they become. Please keep the stories coming as you can. Jan
