Well, despite the bike troubles I made it to NordKapp today. Winds gusting to 20mph from the north giving a temp inc wind chill of -2C. Then the clouds cleared and it rose to + 3C (in wind chill) out of the wind, it is actually nice.

Here is my bike in front of the visitor centre.

Tonight is my last night in Norway and with the group. Tomorrow, we all head south. I turn left at Alta for Finland. All being well with the bike we should meet up again in a weeks time (from tomorrow) at Hook of Holland.
My other worry is my rear tyre. Ideally it needs to be changed. The next question is ... can I get one and get it put in place and not miss my ferry from Helsinki on Wednesday afternoon. If not then it will have to wait until I get home unless the police have other ideas.

I'll report back next Wednesday.

The Internet is not your friend

If I were you, I’d blur out the numberplate on any photos I share. There are some loonies “out there”, and it only takes one. (Don’t get me started on Exif data included in images...)

I thought the same.

Google Street view blurs number plates, even when the cars etc are parked in the drive, as ours is.

Is it so difficult to swap tyres on modern bikes? If the tyre's worn, wet roads can be dodgy. I always did my own - I actually held the club record for a tyre swap when we had a competition on a winter club night :) Can't remember the time but it was fewer than 2 minutes.

Stay safe and, above all, enjoy your trip.

Modern Tyres

are tubeless and need the same sort of kit to remove them from a wheel as needed for car tyres. (No browser, I will not use the US Spelling just to keep you happy.) I "tire' of 'Tyre' stories.

The rear is sized 190/55 ZR17. Quite hefty but not in Hog Fat-boy range.

Nice destination

Very nice to see another picture of NordKapp. To be honest; Been there, done that 20 years ago; still have the t-shirt ;)
