my ride took me up onto the Cotswolds yesterday

I left the house with no clear plan in mind, making up the route as i went. It was only as i began my loop towards Malmesbury that i realised i'd be passing within a mile or so of Highgrove House, the new King's private residence. And so i found myself amongst an ever changing procession of well wishers outside of the gates, a Tesco delivery driver, a family with school age kids, many leaving flowers, others just taking a moment to be there amongst the floral tributes to our late Queen.

Not everyone can take the time or indeed has the finances to travel up to London to pay their respects, so this, for me and many others allows us to pay our respects directly (well as directly as you get) somewhere with a real connection to the Royal family. Indeed, when i got back i learnt that the King was in residence at the time of my visit, which, strangely, was reassuring.

Anyhow, i thought i'd share with you guys, normal posting on Sunday.

Nice photo

I went up to London last night with a friend and queued for just over seven hours to pay my respects to ERII at 04:55. It was a very peaceful night but quite cold. I promised my mother that I'd do it. She met the young Princess in WW2 when she accompanied the King to a bomb site in London.
