My thoughts on the world and what is coming about for the future! Expect at least one post from the Shady Place of my mind at least once a week or once every two weeks when I'm busy.

Dia daoibh mo gcairde! Nó sa bearla, "Hello my friends!"

For those just joining my blog, I am "essential personnel" working for a pet shop chain here in the United States. Even with our story being labeled essential we are facing continual cuts as the story isn't making any money. For example, this previous week I had 25 hours of work, that's enough for me to live off for the week quite well. That's my average and I'm usually fine with it. This next week is looking to be only 16 hours maximum. I've already listed myself for on-call coverage, but the truth is since our store is operating at a loss hours are more likely to go down in the coming weeks.

The major worry for me is making sure I can make payments for utilities, car insurance, and food. Good news, so far I do have enough of a budget and support for food and I've already contacted my insurance agent to find me a better quote. All of that aside I have a lot of free time on my hands which I am using to rebuild my support network. This means, my writing is taking a hit which I am hopefully gonna manage this and next week.

I have a lot of partially done and complete projects which I just need to edit and they'll be good for release. Scald-Crow 2 is already drafted for part 1 and I am writing part 2 as we speak. I have two more manuscripts ready for editing both involve queer and a few other female characters. So if you'd like to be a beta reader for my modern amazon novel then please, reply so I can start editing it this summer for release late this year!

The very last thing I am going to mention is that instead of using patreon to support myself as a creative I'm using ko-fi. Ko-fi lets me set independent goals and is a direct payment system. There is no amount taken by the site itself and I plan on posting some exclusive content to the page. If you can please like and share the link, it will help me build support for my writing during this very stressful time

How About...

The 1200$ from the feds?

Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee

The $1200 until it's in my

ShadowedSin's picture

The $1200 until it's in my accounts is something I can't count on. It will offset my rent pretty well and will help for a few months. On average I make more than that a month. So it's only enough to get me maybe to June-July. Best case scenario says the lock-down should continue till august so I'm putting plans in place.

Last year I lost a car, a computer, and a cell phone eating up 2 grand in three months so I can't count on random stuff not happening.

Thanks for your concern :D
