It's 90 degrees Fahrenheit here in
Washoe Valley east of the Sierra and I'm in Heaven!
We had a good wet winter and everything's green + blooming
and beautiful with an unusual amount of critters running around;
as if nature went nuts and decided to go for broke this year.

Too bad fire season starts next week.

I haven't seen the wild horses yet this year but I bet
when I do they'll have more than a few adorable
little wobbly-legged babies tagging along...
Okay, love you! Bye bye...

I love that kind of Country.

If I had not transitioned, I could live out that way, or in Eastern Oregon. If I had not transitioned, I likely would not be alive. It's complicated.

Sounds pretty simple to me.

Sounds pretty simple to me. If A, then B, but if A, then D. If not A, then not D.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Cottonwood

When I was a kid, I tried collecting some of it to try to make thread. (Yeah, I was that kind of kid.)

It seems to be weaker and have shorter fibers than the stuff that they grow down south. But it was an interesting project.

Until they arrive...

They're excellent lawnmowers, and it's almost like they have a route, returning to top off our small patch of lawn (big lawns in the desert are almost criminal IMO) right when it needs it. They also fertilize it...

But last summer a younger male decided to challenge the herd's Alpha, who was kind of being a dick to him. They got up on their hind legs and had a horsey boxing match right in our yard, messed up our fence and totally demolished a little Victorian gingerbread birdhouse we had on a post. My sister and I agreed the show they put on was almost worth it, but those poor birds!

"And if your house gets demolished by horses, you need... Mutual of Omaha!"
