I'm sorry it has taken me so long to post more chapters about Atalanta's continuing adventures but a lot of things contributed to that. Ashleigh my editor has been fighting an illness as I have which in the last month has worsened with pinched/inflamed nerves in my back and hips and now COPD. And my husband is in nursing care and decided he wanted to recuperate in his home state; two states away. Stuff happens but you can't quit.

I have been in contact with Ashleigh and she tells me that she has almost all (close to 75 pages) that I sent her edited but I held back several chapters from last year that are edited. Sometime this week or over the weekend I'll start posting chapters again. I had to go back and reread the last chapter because I couldn't remember where I left off. I'm a stinker aren't I leaving everyone on the edge of the cliff that way. The next several chapters are fast moving with plenty of action that I hope is worth the wait. I should say that probably because of the delay some story elements may not flow as smoothly as I'd like. I don't know that it will be it is just that seems likely and I'm hard on myself.

One more thing as soon as Atalanta arrived at Whateley I knew she didn't belong and I probably should have just taken up the story the following summer and tell in flashbacks why she left but I didn't. I have had difficulty at coming up with a reason for to leave the school and I think I've found that missing element. But I need help from anyone on here that has federal LE experience, military especially covert actions/unit/tactics to read and correct those portions. Any help would be appreciated.

Again I apologize for the delay and not keeping you guys updated better but I really didn't know what to say. But it shouldn't be more than a week now if I haven't forgotten how to post. Thanks again.

Katie

Thanks richie2

I really hope to finish this story and at least another 3 or 4 more books.

Atalanta

I knew that you were ill and hoped that you would recover soon.

As to Atalanta leaving Whateley, not everyone needs to go there. I'm sure that she can find a life. There is perhaps a lot she can do back around home. I get frustrated that so many stories end with the protagonist going to Whateley, and phft, they are gone.

I've been toying with a story about a newly emerged, dual identity, Dragon Princess who will "roost" in the mountains of California, Colorado, and Oregon, traveling a lot. I thought briefly about having her visit Whately, but because I dislike rules, she'd probably be written such that the magic had no effect on her, or, hers is better than theirs. This story may never feel the bite of the presses.

I hope that you continue to get better.

Atalanta is more or less

a reflection of me or what I wish I could find the courage to be and foremost among them is hanging labels while acknowledging the need for discrimination. We all discriminate by not eating out of date food labels but I like liberty and freedom and to me Atalanta represents that while Whateley doesn't. Which doesn't mean that Whateley is evil or doesn't serve a good purpose; it does just not that it is right for Atalanta.

Great story and...

Glad to hear that you are doing better. I have always liked this story and am happy to hear that you are continuing it. Hope everything gets better and goes well for you take care of yourself first and formost; we will patently wait for more of your amazing work.
