Letting go of old masks

I've been thinking for a while about letting go of a name/mask that I've held on to for years, momonoimoto, as a way of remembering a friend and of giving myself at least a thin veil of anonymity. Partly, I've waited not from some huge reluctance, but honestly from laziness. So, letting people know, I've changed my user name to match my legal name (well, part of it). I'm not worried about some of the issues with releasing some of this information, as I've such bad credit to steal, it'd be almost an improvement if someone did. ^^;

Courage

I don't think that I'll ever have the courage to do that.

Courage...

...is sometimes less about facing and overcoming fear as it is just needing to un-bury oneself from piles upon piles of toxic shit.

Once upon a time, I thought pretty much the same thing, that I'd never take even the step of admitting to others what was going on with me, how my life was constricting me. I thought I'd never go through with the process of being honest, even with myself.

Things happen, though. Things change. Don't sell yourself short, and keep watch for opportunities. Take small steps, and use them to feed that bit of your heart that is starving. Build the strength, the energy, to take another step, maybe a bigger one, maybe smaller. If you can't for a while, don't condemn yourself; sometimes things take time. Rome, as the saying goes, wasn't built in a day, nor has any star athlete stepped into their honors on their first attempt at their sport. Allow yourself to take the time YOU need to build up YOUR ability to move forward along your path. We're here for you, willing to help you, to keep your heart fed, if even just a little, so you can survive to take another step, then another.

Because you, and everyone reading this, are worth it.
