Not really anything to do with BC but everyone is so helpful here I thought it worth a try.

I have a young pen friend (just coming up 14) who is experimenting with writing a novel.
Does anyone know of a friendly site where she could post her efforts and receive the kind of support and encouragement writers appear to get here.

let me know

If you find one, could you let me know as well? :)

Storywrite.com

Is a writer's site, and frankly has an abundence of aspiring writers in her age group. I like it there, though there are (of course) those that aren't exactly supportive there, there are a great deal more who are

been there, done that

I have tried using that site....... I haven't gotten nearly the type of attention and good experiences there, as I have gotten here...... in fact, I'm about to pull everything I have off Storywrite.com.

Story line

Could that be because of your story lines ?
BC would appear to be a more focused group as regards content.

I hesitate to expose my friend to insensitive criticism.

Bard's Quill - RIP ?

There used to be a good site (though small) for aspiring authors - at www.bardsquill.com Kendall Boyd ran it for a bunch of years and it went through several itterations. I'm not finding it right now, just references, so it may have finally gone away, which would be a pitty.
