If you have ever searched for a job or done any hiring, Indeed is a well known and often used company that helps connect employers and job seekers. But apparently it is also a good place to work as well.

As per the attached article, Indeed has offered to approve relocation for any employee who is in danger of being denied gender affirming care, or has a family member who is in danger of being denied gender affirming care, due to the recent rash of state and local laws looking to deny said care. They are also providing a $10,000 flat benefit to cover the cost of relocation to a community where gender affirming care is still protected by law and readily available.

That’s the kind of company that gets my support!

. . . that some genius doesn’t decide to start a boycott, a la Bud Lite. Not that it makes any sense. States that pass those laws are giving a clear signal that they don’t want our kind. They should be happy that companies are willing to pay us to move out.

…employee-recruiting systems are a little less susceptible to boycotts than cheap beer.

Good for Indeed; they surely need this, having a substantial presence here in the One Star Review state.

Gender Affirming Care

It's come almost 20 years too late for my purposes. Already did it on my own. Amazingly, at the Veterans Administration Hospital where I live, my Doctor recently informed me that they would provide it. It might be better that I was largely in the struggle alone. Over the years I have at times expressed regret at transitioning. Perhaps it would be better if the government just stayed out of it. Their rationale is to decrease the number of Gender Dysphoria driven suicides. It is a tough issue to get the right answer to.

Can’t

If the government provides your healthcare, they can’t “stay out of it.” Whether they provide or deny gender affirming care, it’s a decision. Someone makes that decision. Of course, you don’t have to take it.
