What Happened to the Taylor Project?

So, what happened to the Taylor Project? It's probably been noticed that I haven't posted an update in months. Part of it was getting slammed at work. More of it was just me falling into a funk. What seems to kill my writing every time is I reach a place where every word I type seems lame and not worth reading. I'm trying to move forward again. It's not going easy, but I mean to push through and write an ending, even if it is a little lame. That's my great failure of a write, not finishing a work. This time I plan to finish.

The Taylor Project - Recent Slowdown

I just wanted to let my readers know that I've had to back down from my twice a week posting pace for two reasons. First, I've had to put in a lot more hours at work the past few weeks and it is cutting into my writing time. Second, I've made some changes to my first draft of Taylor's confrontation with her father (part 16) and the family meeting (part 17). I think the result that I posted is better overall than my original draft and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Truth in Tagging

I'm posting this on my blog instead of the story comments because some of my readers would probably regard this post as a spoiler. I still won't be disclosing exactly what condition Taylor has. Any spoilers will be mild, but I know some readers don't want any author hints at all. If so this post is not for you. Also if you are reading my story and haven't read through Part 14 yet, then you'd probably consider this post a major spoiler.

Spoiler Alert! Readers of The Taylor Project beware

The Taylor Project - Writing Update

When I started posting the Taylor Project back in January I was at 63k words. I've already posted 54k and I expect I'll catch up to my starting point in about two posts. However, since then I've kept writing and manuscript just kept on growing. It's up to 104k words now and still growing. I finally have the final chapters outlined, so now there is an end in sight. I've abandonded several novels. I can get to A, B, C but usually lose my way around E, F, G. This time I'm all the way Q, R, S and I can see the steps needed to get to the end.

My New Year's Resolution

Happy New Year all. I'm new here as a writer, but I've been lurking as an anonymous non-member for months. I've also been trying to write for years. I've gotten midway through a couple of novels and then quit. I started writing The Taylor Project some months ago setting it as starting with a New Year's Resolution. It was my original intention to have it done by New Years. That didn't happen, but I've gone ahead and started posting it even though the story isn't done yet. I'm using the public committment of posting to push myself to actually finish a work this time.
