Major Crimes on the TV station TNT had a fictional story about a thirteen year old TG teen, who was missing. The show was season 2 episode 6. There was a fair mix of supporters and detractors, in the expected places and the police seemed to handle the case well. A grizzly circumstance but fair and even handling.

****SPOILER ALERT****

Michelle the TG MTF teen had been pants and sexually battered (NOT RAPED) by a group of boys at school for using the girls restroom. This wasn't reported to authorities and doesn't come to light till she comes up missing. She was later found dead. Captain Raider and her Major Crimes Unit is set to investigate. The usual suspects, family and school bullies are rounded up and investigated. The prosecutor could have been a little more understanding, but better than I would expect. The killer was also among the usual suspects a family member.

****END SPOILER ALERT****

I give this show two thumbs up for the way they handled the case.

Comments

It's not surprising.

For a while I was very afraid of my son. Not that he could hurt me, but that I would have to shoot him. There isn't much that happens accidentally around me with guns.

Umh, sorry?

"had been pants" What does that mean?

You know pants as in having

You know pants as in having your pants pulled down in public.

On a side not this does not surprise me with this show since the first episode of the closer was done well with a female to male cross dresser.

Oh

Where I come from it was called "de-pantsing". Can't say I recall it ever actually happening, but I had a medical-out for gym.

pants

had it done and then thrown in the toilet then the school wanted to suspend me for ten days for having to wear gym clothes the rest of the day because I did not bring spear clothes to school in case this should happen.

It is a long road ahead but I will finally become who I should be.

That sucks

I don't know if my schools were stricter about that sort of thing or I just didn't hear of it. It's always been part of stories for me. Not that I'd never heard the term, just not heard of it happening where I was.

Florida schools zero tolerance

when somebody is bullied or attacked in most Florida schools there is zero tolerance policy where all sides must pay the same price regardless whether there was witnesses or not to the. attacks. they do this protect themselves from lawsuits.

That should be pantsed!

i believe properly "pantsed"

at least that is always how i heard it, experienced it. not necessarily removed, but forcibly pulled down, exposing your underwear or more. very humiliating to most kids, and typical tactic of bullies.

Major Crimes did well

I watched that program with interest, needless to say. I thought they did a fine job. The parents parts were well portrayed. The role 'reversal' between mother and father was an interesting twist. And sibling rivalry played an important part in it.
As far as I'm concerned, this was a worthwhile program.

Major Crimes trans episode

Sabre Sarah's picture

I saw that episode on tv last night. I was pretty impressed with how transposition it was, especially when crusty old conservative Provenza commented that he "doesn't get this transgender business, but I don't have to to see that a child has had her head bashed in." Most of the characters in the show consistently referred to Michelle as"she",except for the ones explicitly identified as transphobes.
I think it was a pretty strong episode.
