I'm not sure about the last part of that name, but I'm pretty sure this will help me pronounce the first part:

From The Concert for Bangladesh no less and for ME??

Gotta love George Harrison, bless you.

Here's one back at yah. Possibly my favorite song, ever. Certainly WAY up there. I "see" your George Harrison and put in my hold pile of chips.

To have been a fly on the wall when this group got together.

And you have to LOVE Roy's sunglasses.

I am now OLDER than Roy ever was. What a shame he is gone.

John in Wauwatosa

P.S. And he sang pretty good too. As to Bob Dylan...

P.P.S. Note several of the Traveling Wilburys were in The Concert for Bangladesh

Hey Anghie,

How do people remember everyone's special days? I have trouble remembering to keep my eyes open while typing on this keyboard. (It makes a LOT of fun to try to type while sleeping.)

Once in a while I bare my soul, more often my soles bear me.

I'm prettty sure that if he's as old as we believe?

the contractions were timed with a sundial! Happy Birthday, John. I don't know you well, but enough about you to know that you're a pretty popular person (aliteration counts)!

Birthday Mirth!
Belle

I was born about1AM ...

And it was a short labor, the serious contractions only begining when Jack Parr was on, you know the guy before Johnny Carson? Um, WAAAAAY before Leno?

Even as far north as Wauwatosa is -- aprox 43 north -- we don't quite get the midnight sun, as least not in December.

Many happy returns

Happy Birthdauwatosa!

It's totally unfair that you were only a week old and then that other baby gets all the fanfare.

Happy Birthday John

Remember that today you can have all the cake you want and don't have to worry about any more hair falling out!

Thanks and in responce to Bonzi and Izzy

Cally is a bit like Izzy, only here we call 'em tortoiseshells - actually I call her a lot worse than that, especially when she helps herself to my meal while I'm still preparing it.

and here's the boy himself.

Tortoiseshell

erin's picture

Here in the states, a Tortoiseshell is a red and black cat with little or no white/cream on her. Fudge was a tortoiseshell, nearly black with blots and streaks of red-brown and a few spots of cream. Bebekat was much like Izzy and Callie, with a prominent black patch over one eye and a mostly red face otherwise. A three-color cat with visible tabby stripes is tabby-tortie which technically Bebekat was since you could see her tabby stripes in the large orange patches on her back.

Hugs,
Erin

Ironically enough...

...Hi...my name is Ricci, and I'm a male tortie. Male torties are very rare, and we also are affected virtually every time with Klinefelter's Syndrome. You know? Where we can have an XXY or even an XXXY chromosome array? Don't you think I look pretty? I love sitting at home watching What Not to Wear and Say Yes to the Dress and I love the smell of lavender and spearmint. Maybe Santa will bring me a diamond collar for Christmas, aye?

You look just like Gussy, Ricci

She was a really sweet former stray our neigbors had for something like 16 or 17 years.

Um, if Ricci can come to 'tosa we have a lot of catnip growing wild in our yard from a packet of seeds I got over 30 years ago. Our brother and sister cats turn 17 this Feb and aren't as fast as they used to be so if your kitty is quick enough?

Your Tortoiseshell is what we call a Calico ...

on the west side of the pond.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calico_cat
and tortoiseshell cats, as was stated above do not have much if any white.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortoiseshell_cat

HOWEVER, NOTE THIS LINE IN THE SECOND ARTICLE:

"Those that are largely white with red and brown patches (rather than a brindled aspect) are described as tortoiseshell-and-white (in the United Kingdom) or calico (in Canada and the United States)."

SO, EVERYBODY IS RIGHT.

Holly

Happy B'Day again, John from whereveritis.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Third article

And here's a clue to the political reason no one called the cats calico in Britain.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calico_(textile)

Summary: At various times, the wool industry politically suppressed the importation or manufacture of calico fabric, making calling something that wasn't fabric 'calico', a political statement. :)

Weird, huh?

And that is a lovely kitteh, John.

Happy Birthday, John

So now we have something else in common. Though you are about six hours older than I (plus or minus how many years?)

I was born in Chicago, but at least have had the good sense to move to someplace warmer. ;-p

Best wishes.

Yours is on the 18th of December too?

I was mom's second and her first by fully natural childbirth, no pain meds or knockout gas.

She had watching The Tonight Show with Jack Parr late in the evening of Dec 17th to thank for that.

Apparantly he was very numbing.

So numbing I almost was delived by an intern in a sport jacket.

I guess that settles who's older

I remember watching Jack Parr on TV (ya know, that ultra-low-rez black and white, round, tube display.) Also remember wondering whether Nixon would take over for Ike when Ike had his heart attacks.

My goodness, that was a long time ago.

Best wishes, Bro!

Just remember ...

Birthdays are mandatory (at least considering the alternative), but maturity is optional!

You have that part down pat! ( and holding at about a maturity level of ... )

Happy birthday, youngster!

I always liked the line in An Evening Wasted with Tom Lehrer

about his being involved in an an experiment to extend adolecence beyond all previous limits.

He was in his late 30s at the time. I am sooo beating THAT now.

Happy Birthday John!

Let's see... 22:52 over here, so subtract five hours, about 17:52 over there - ooh, got the entire evening ahead of you :)

Enjoy yourself (not that you're not doing that already!) and HAVE FUN (again, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you to do that!)

Best wishes for the coming year,

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

In the middle of celebrating John's birthday

... and we have an issue of Cat Fancy break out. :).

Only on BC.

Next year I hit the big 50 and I wonder if it should be a celebration or a dirge :P

On the bright side, I might be able to get a cat next year.
