Where has the past year gone? I don't feel any older - can I demand a recount?

Had my hair cut, bought myself a birthday cake - an apple and custard turnover, which I shall have for elevenses. Watch the rugby between Wales and Australia this afternoon and go and see my daughter and my ex tomorrow.

Could be worse, it was last year, it snowed.

Angharad.

Happy Birthday

Hope you have many more and all of them in good health.

Hugs, Sarah Ann

Twenty one again? :)

OK, you probably feel slightly beyond that point, but you're alive and kicking, healthy, active and (if the weather up here in the Midlands is anything to go by) have a nice, bright (and not too chilly at 10°C) day to look forward to.

Have a happy birthday, enjoy yourself and have fun! :)

Happy birthday to you, Angharad

I was going to say that Bonzi and Izzy should be extra special nice to you today, but I see that ship has already sailed.

Happy birthday to you, Angharad, and many, many more!

I am a day older than I was the day before. Do I qualify for 1/365 of a cake? If so, a 100g slice of a 36.5kg cake would be lovely. = )

birthdays

Birthdays are a great thing when young you get presents from family, although not always what you want, toys, sometimes clothes.

Then you get older, its clothes usually ones you dont want, No toys anymore, other things you want like makeup, perfume, no what do you get some tape/cd of some rock band you never even heard of.

Then even older parents send you cards with money in them, You occasionly get taken out for a meal, the only gifts you get are socks.

Eventually as the birthdays pass you no longer even get phone calls from your family on that birthday. Age has taken its toll some have died others just can't remember the exact day and are too embarrased to ask.

Then comes that One birthday, You purchase that special dress just for that day that you will never wear again. Spend hours at a salon, get all done up as pretty as you can. You feel like a little girl again. There is the cake you baked the day before, and beside it is a present to yourself.

This is a true present, something you have waited a very long time to get. You slowly open it up savoring the little bit of wrapping paper you so carefully wrapped it with yesterday.

This reveals a box. The excitement is almost too much as tears poor down your cheeks. Finnaly you open the box. Inside the box is a single card that means more to you than all the money in the world.

It is the birth certificate that says Angharad sex female.

I hope you enjoy my gift. All the best on this special day Tels

... aren't much fun once you're an adult but we have to bear them with fortitude and I hope you make the best of yours, Ang and enjoy many more in the future ;) I'm sure you will. It's a sunny day here so I hope it is in deepest Dorset, too.

Act your shoe size, not your age. I do. Fun, innit?

BTW Happy Birthday; you're in illustrious company - it's mine on Monday. I won't tell you how many years but it's between 65 and 67.

Happy Birthday...

...not necessarily to keep track of how old you are, but to commemorate that this day marks the anniversary of your bright and wonderful beginning. I'm happy at least that you were born! I hope that the next year is better than ever!

Birthdays are special

... even if they aren't all wrapped up in white and pink.

One of my most memorable began with me rushing to have some breakfast, but instead managing to break a large jar of pickles and spill nearly a quart of orange juice on the kitchen floor, so instead of getting out on time I had to clear up the bits of glass and gerkin and sop up the sticky mess that dried so incredibly quickly.

And then I found I hadn't any clean underwear. Oh woeful day.

Many years later, on my birthday, I dropped a gravy boat full of hollandaise onto a carpet-covered staircase. Before I cleaned it up, I sat down and cried because I'd just turned thirty and look what happened!

Later on, when I told my sister, she pointed that I'd turned thirty the previous year.

I hope that it turns out to be a lovely day for you.

Hugs,

Kaleigh

Birthdays again

Happy Birthday Ang, strange thing is that it's mine again - just like last year. Just back from dinner with daughter having spent the afternoon at a Panto. Finally relaxing (although the Merlot may have helped).
