Hi everyone.

Lilith asked me to post this blog for her because she's having computer problems. The motherboard on her laptop is fried and unfortunately it won't be fixed for about two weeks. She just wanted to let anyone know who was interested that she was going to be out of touch until then.

Thanks for reading,

Poor Lilith :-/

I can totally empathize, as I've lost two hard drives, a sound card, three or four video cards, and done dozens of complete hard drive reformats over the years. I've never outright lost a motherboard though. I just hope it didn't take anything else with it!

Not too much

Apparently she lost some but a lot of it was backed up. She's kind of bummed though because she was in the middle of an epic writing spree.

Hard drive

I'm having problems myself, but it's with my external hard drive. I need to get a connection resodered. I've got over 400GB worth of movies on there. Some of them were very hard to get. It would be a nightmare if I had to redownload them all.

oh, no :(

As I recall, the laptop was a gift when her previous system died. That sucks, I hope it was under warranty at least!

Get well soon, Lilith's laptop!

Rash of 'puter problems?

I lost my laptop hard drive, but I think it was due to it's accidentally riding in the hot trunk on our trip from Oregon to Ohio. Now, my good machine's acting menopausal every morning. Maybe the old gel isn't propahly taking her meds? If my desk top quits, I will probably be off line for a couple months.

I wonder if all these problems are coincidental or if we have a nasty virus or worm circulating in the ether?

I'm setting here with 2 laptops

one won't hardly start up at all and I keep trying to run Malwarebytes on it, but it keeps shutting down minutes after the program starts running. It also overheats badly, even with the battery removed and running on wall power. Mine jsut keeps getting hotter and hotter and running slower and slower. And this desktop keeps freezing up, requiring re-starts and has other problems. I need to get new parts and build a new one, but my guru up and moved to Tennessee. I hate the idea I may have to buy a packaged unit. Yuck. And then it will have to have windoze 7 yuck again. Most of my stuff won't even run on it either. yuck x3

And the really bad part of this all........no Lili for a while.

Lilith Update

She might be away longer than she thought. They've had her laptop for a week now and they just got around to it today. So now she doesn't know how long its going to take.

Par for the course, *sigh*

When they DO return it, they'll forget to return the power cord.

There's nothing on a laptop that can't be fixed (ha!) or replaced (much more likely) in an hour or so, once an actual human gets involved. Maybe less if they decide to just replace it.

Hope she's got backups...
