I'm leaving tomorrow....I want to be a part of it, New York, New York....Ever notice how great Sinatra's phrasing was? Oopsies, sorry, wrong topic. I go into the Big Apple tomorrow for a consult with my neurologist for the first time in nine months. New symptoms accompanying old but more intense ones may hopefully mean just an adjustment in medication. But not having been seen in so long, he may notice something that has occurred over time that I haven't; certainly head tremors and fatigue top the list.

But as I told Angela the other day, I'm still having a better year than the Baltimore Orioles. I'm a bit scared? No, I'm a lot scared, and I'm hoping it's just the alarmist in me. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. Love you! Andrea

Post Script: Double oopsies - forgot to mention it's just a day trip for an evaluation/consultation. And Sammy Davis Jr. was brilliant! But seeing Francis Albert was from Hoboken NJ and Italian, maybe we call call them even?

Be there overnight?

Just travel safe, and let things sort out as they will. As a person of faith, I know the Lord will take care of things.

And yes, I have noticed Sinatra's phrasing, or shall I say, Tommy Dorsey's? Sinatra was never shy about telling folks he learned everything he knew about phrasing from TD, and he was the first successful pop music vocalist to use instrumental phrasing techniques with the voice. For out and out male vocalist precision and talent however, there has never been a match for Sammy Davis Jr. Well, IMHO that is...

TB or Not TB

Well,

He's great too but if you consider him you have to also consider Mel Torme and Johnny Hartman. But I don't think anyone can top Bing for popularity, he once had five songs on the top ten at the same time!

Okay Then

For pure talent how about Les Paul?

Sorta fitting in a purely accidental way.

She was born for all the wrong reasons but grew up for all the right ones.

Alive and well today. sorta

I loved Les Paul but I can't find his recordings easily. But his legacy lives on.

And, two of my favorites from today

Jane Monheidt with John Pizzarelli

Well, if your dad was Bucky Pizzarelli, and you'd spent 10 years playing behind Rosemary Clooney we'd expect that from you too!

Good luck!

All my good wishes.
