I wonder if any of you remember this excellent series that came out about ten or more years ago?

Well, it's being shown on FX (which I think is part of the Fox network) here in England at 6pm each weekday evening.

I say this because I have just written a review of it here, so you might want to jog that memory and revisit an old friend. If you haven't seen it before, I can wholeheartedly recommend it, so go check out the review and if you can spare the time, watch the series.

You know you want to...

I have the whole series ...

... on DVD, including the miniseries that ended the story . It's truly awesome, in so many ways. The characters are complex and flawed, the relationships all too real, and the aliens at times TRULY alien. Please, if you can, check out Farscape. Like the best television has to offer, everyone changes and grows, makes mistakes, and learns from them ... sometimes. *grin*

It is a long road ahead but I will finally become who I should be.

Jim Henson's last project

Farscape was quite a few years after my hero's death, but the two Muppet characters (Rigel and Pilot) were among some of the last of his personal work. Rigel was based on sketches that Jim himself did for "some space show, maybe?" found on his workdesk. Pilot was based on a small clay model Jim had left behind. Now, that all being said, it's never been confirmed by anyone anywhere in the Henson organization either way but... it gives me a happy feeling to think that years after his passing, Jim Henson's handiwork was still making his brand of magic.

Worth sticking with

I thought it started a bit corny, a bit hard to take seriously; I didn't really buy the muppet characters, and some of the others were even less lifelike...

But my god it developed; and seemed if anything to get better with each passing season. Some particular later episodes are just stand-out astonishing and have some of the best performances you'll find anywhere on TV. A real ensemble work.

I think I'll have to rent it again; and rip it this time. ;-)

Bonus marks for spotting the tg-analogue episode.

Argh, damn you...

I looked it up on itunes and there it is, and was wondering whether to buy the first season on that or not, and the netbook slipped out of my hand and when i picked it up I'd accidentally clicked (tap on touchpad) on the buy button...

Your fault! Yours!
