After a long absence while it was being polished and updated I have now brought back Rebekkah DeMere's long and wonderful masterpiece, "The Eight Dragon's Trilogy" with new illustrations and easy reading online of the complete books as well as text versions for easy download to handheld devices or just those that prefer the simple text without all the graphics. Below is one of the cover's and intro by your's truly to give you a little taste of this fascinating tale for either you first time readers or simply those who want to go back and reread this excellent adventure.
We all make decisions, big as well as small, whether we realize we are making them or not. Once you make a decision, you change your world. Some of your desires become possibilties, however they are still only possibilities. And not all that results are the possibilities that you desire. Then you will have to make other decisions. You can trust that you will make the right ones, but how do you know what the right ones are? Only you can decide that as you continue to make one decision after another until you become who you should be. However until you decide just what that is, you will continue to live in danger as well as fear.
This an epic tale of one such person who made a momentous decision which started him along a path that would change the world forever...

Yay! There be dragons here!
Yes! I read this story years ago, and I corresponded with the author. She graciously gave me some wonderful insights into the story.
Ms. DeMere and I sent several messages back and forth but they stopped suddenly. She mentioned something about a tree falling on her house (I think) and then nothing. Needless to say, I was worried! So it's very nice to hear that she's still around.
Yay!

P.S. If you're reading this, Ms. DeMere, I still haven't figured out the identity of the eighth dragon. Maybe I will when I read your latest and greatest revision. *sigh*

The third book STILL isn't finished. I've been waiting on that thing for YEARS, and I reeeeeally wanna read the rest of it! :(

Clarifications....
Ok. Forgive me if this turns out to be something of a babblefest, having just woke up.
Just to clarify, the posted versions at the Balcony are revised by MYSELF, not Ms. DeMere. I have, with her permission ages ago, added some illustrations, backgrounds and introductions from myself. Also added were the pure downloadable TXT versions for a hopefully easier read on PDAs, Smartphones, etc. The currently final product, after much tinkering and trying out different styles, is what now posted. While I was doing so, I had found that I had, unknowingly, pulled the complete series offline and it had been unavailable to people for several years. My apologies.
Sadly, I also have had no contact with Rebekkah for a number of years now and her Trilogy still currently stands unfinished at partway through the second section of her third book, which I will be posting up to in the next few days.
On another note, what would be extremely helpful is feedback concerning the functionality of my site on different platforms. (i.e Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc) This doesn't necessarily include the knowingly broken links through the menu system as I am mostly aware of those. Due to computer upgrades over the last few years, I am currently without the software for the current main menu system so I can't make changes to it at this time, thought I will be endeavoring to fill in the blanks as it were for what links that are broken.

Firefox 3.5.5. Everything looks great. It is one of the most stylish sites I've encountered.
I am currently on the second volume of the Eight Dragon trilogy and am sorry to hear that the third volume is unfinished. It would be wonderful if Rebekkah could complete the story or, failing that, give any notes to a worthy author to finish the story for her. Unfortunately, her style is rather unique and no one comes to mind who might be able to write in the same manner. I'm sure there are good authors who could do it, it's just that I haven't read anything quite like it. In my mind, her writing reminds me of a stroboscope with variable frequency control. Rebekkah revs it up or slows it down expertly and you soon lose sight of what she is doing. It's simply The Story and then...you're inside it, immersed in a world just a little bit different than ours.

Another author finish it?
That could be... interesting, though if someone else were to finish the story, I'd much rather it be a complete reinterpretation from beginning to end. As much as I love the story, there are lots of plot holes and continuity errors that would benefit greatly from someone sitting down and redoing the entire story from beginning to end, not to mention adding a little bit more explanation on some points for us idiots who need it.
The original story is Rebekkah's, and hers alone, but if someone were to put their own spin on it, and finish what she began, well, I could really get into that. The question would be: who would be a good enough author to take the reigns, and could do the story justice? Lilith Langtree, Maggie Finson, or Bek Corbin would be the top three I would think could do the story justice, and could bring an interesting spin of their own to the tale. Yes, it would be different from the original -- but you can't expect them to stick strictly to her ideas and style. Of course, all three of them have their own share of unfinished stories, so completion might still be an issue :P

About Rebbekah
I emailed her a few months ago and she replied that she was alive and well, just extremely busy and a bit of hard times in her life. She assured me that she was working on the finale and that, real life and God willing she would finish it and get it posted. She did not give me a time frame and I got no reply when I emailed to her a couple of days ago. She may be busy again. Given what she told me I think it would be wrong of anyone to try to finish her work when she is still alive and working on it when she can. Only in a case like Spider Robinson finishing a story by Robert Heinlein many years after RH died would be appropriate but not while she is alive unless you had her EXPRESS permission and probably in writing.
Like you I'm anxiously awaiting the final portion of the story and have been for years. We can only wish her well, and God be with her.
