HAPPY PASSOVER.

MAY ALL OF YOU WHO CELEBRATE IT, HAVE A ZISSEN PESACH.

DO NOT GET DRUNK ON THE 4 CUPS, GETTING DRUNK IS FOR PURIM.

EAT ALL YOUR MATZAH.

ENJOY YOUR KNAIDELS

DO NOT BURN YOUR TOUNGE ON THE MAROR

IF YOU HAVE A PARENT LIVING, EVEN IF YOU ARE YOURSELF A GREAT-GRAND PARENT, ASK YOUR PARENT THE 4 QUESTIONS. IT SHOWS RESPECT AND LOVE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. ITS NEVER TO LATE TO LEARN SOMETHING OR TEACH SOMETHING.

AND REMEMBER THE KEY TO THE HOLIDAY:

THINK OF YOURSELF AS IF YOU PERSONALLY WENT FORTH FROM MISTRIAM (EGYPT) FROM SLAVERY TO FREEDOM.

BEST WISHES

Mitzrayim...

Puddintane's picture

The Hebrew word for Egypt, mitzrayim, means “narrow straits,” which refers only loosely to the ancient land of Egypt, and now refers also to any narrow emotional state of spiritual darkness, confusion, fragmentation, or disconnection which oppresses you, and from which you have either been liberated, or long to be. It's not only that we are supposed to feel that we've been set free from bondage, but that we can and should set forth this very night on our own journey of discovery and freedom, out of the darkness and into the light, gathering the scattered bits of ourselves into a coherent and liberated whole, and reconciling ourselves to our essential freedom, healing both ourselves and the world around us.

It's not just a celebration for Jews, and all are traditionally welcome at the Seder table, a place set ready for the stranger, the door opened, even if the stranger doesn't come in just now.
