Can I ask, is the amount you are paid for read read vastly different to the purchase price?

OK, I downloaded it and read it in one sitting with a few tears and lots of smiles along the way. Great story
Kindle Unlimited or buy money?
I think you get paid by the page read on Kindle unlimited and my books are not that long so I think I get more for books that are bought. Nonetheless, I love the idea of kindle unlimited, giving access to my books without (those who have subscribed) having to pay anything. The only downside is that I have to remove the majority of the story from any other site.
How much
The KU "page rent" is about .4 cents a page. So, a 250-page book will pay about $1 for each KU subscriber who reads the whole thing. How KU figures pages is almost another mystery though. Rough rule, 3 or 4 pages per 1000 words. This is based on experience with DopplerPress.

I buy
I get peeved every time Amazon (or the author) says read it 'free' with Kindle Unlimited. It's not free, it's $9.99 a month. I can buy two to three books for that amount and the author gets a lot more money for each book I buy. I buy virtually every Doppler Press book and books by authors from here and a few others not from here. I tried KU for two years at half the current price and ended up buying books anyway so gave it up. Besides I have over 6000 books I downloaded that were actually free to keep. Then there are a few authors who removed their books from Amazon but if you bought it you still have it.

I like the cover artwork too that is very professional. I'm pleased Kez said she could access by Kindle Unlimited that I will try. Hard to buy some books from the UK.
I'd love to edit some of my stories and publish as books or short stories though this site has been just perfect for my first efforts at writing and I will stay loyal.
