Since the original blog seems to have disappeared without trace, may I lament the continuing absence of images as of 0109 GMT, 23/12/2013.
Just when I was thinking of updating my avatar as well...

Seriously, where did the original blog go? I saw it this afternoon, had places to be and didn't have time to read all the responses. Now it isn't there any more.
That's what really bothers me.
I've just uploaded an image of the 90s band Lush. It ought to appear directly above these words.

No it isn't. And I've deleted my browser history etc. And I've tried turning it off and turning it on again.
And that still doesn't answer my question: Where did the original blog go?
Don't worry, you'll all get sick of this before I do.
I removed the blog
I removed the blog because I assumed the problem was fixed since people were telling me they weren't seeing it and I couldn't duplicate it.
Pictures and internal files are served from a different server than most of BC but if some people can see them and you can't.... The problem is most likely, overwhelmingly likely, to be on your end. I can't find anything wrong here. Sorry.

Still no images here, 0752 in the UK.
Other forums etc. seem to be working normally

I think this is more likely browser related.
In I.E.11 there're no pictures (and there hasn't been for several days)
In FF26 the pictures are showing fine.
So those that aren't seeing anything, try a different browser.

Problem Solved
I opened BC using Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer and guess what!
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I realise I've now used up my whinges for the rest of the year!
Disapearing Images happen to me too, But it fixed it self.
However when I tired a different browser I could see them.
The problem was with Firefox, but it fixed it self when I updated.
See if you can see them from a different browser. And update what ever one you are using.
I still have no idea why it did this.
This happened to me too!
My "Uncle O", yes, that one, told me how to fix it. It worked for me, so I'll pass it along. If you're on a PC it's probably MS's last midnight download. Do a system restore to just before their last overly protective "Security" update. I guess the idiots at MS think something on the site is unsafe or that our avatars will come to life and attack us. Who knows? Anyway, I did this and it worked! He thinks it may be related to the "Malicious software removal tool", so you could just try removing it. It only needs to run once to clean things up anyway.

Didn't work for me
I'm hoping someone knows a setting which will undo the "feature" but system restore back a week and a half just mortally wounded my AV program and I had to remove and reinstall it.. It didn't fix the piccies.
The Malicious software removal tool removes itself after running, I looked for the remnant which might have sat on the system but a search didn't show it up. Ah well, pictureless for now, can't even see me own. I suppose I will survive. And no I don't wish to add and learn another browser just to get over this, sorry, technophiles. I only fiddle with the machine if I have to, I do other stuff for fun ;)

Way around
Ok I've found my side entrance; "compatibility view".
If you are using IE11 - tools/compatibility view settings, and add the site. Having the site showing puts the name in a box to "add site".
I hope this helps anyone else missing the piccies due to what is indeed probably MS nannyism. :)
