The direction I've taken Brose is why this continuation is listed as a fan-fiction. I think what I've done is okay, but others may not, so to avoid issues, I posted it this way.

My reasoning for Brose's abilities is that the contaminated water obviously effected the mothers, being responsible for their deaths. It also effected the children AT CONCEPTION, causing the children to be intersexed, showing one gender at birth and changing to the other upon emergence. Their talents actually are a manifestation that occurs shortly before emergence. These effects are clearly stated in the guidlines.

At birth, a child is vulnerable. I've taken the view that the physical changes caused by the contaminated water to the fetus are still active immediately after birth. Dave's exposure to the harsh environment of the hog farm and the loveless obligatory manner in which he was raised upon release from the hospital after his birth allowed the effects of the contamination to protect him, like an auto immune response. Once the immune reaction was present, further exposure to hazardous environments made it stronger allowing him to fight off any infection that threatened him, thus his never being sick as a child. By the time he was fully exposed to the toxic lethal doses in the drains while hunting rats, his immune response had grown strong enough to overcome the lethality. The more he was exposed, the better he became at processing the poisons out of hs body.

Brose's ability to create odors is a secondary emergence talent that was enhanced by his souped up immune response, fooling the evaluation team into thinking it was a 3rd level primary power. The primary talent is the sensing empathy/ability to block mind probes which was overlooked in the initial assessment.

As far as Brose's strength, endurance and agility (marksmanship), those were abilities Dave had developed to well above normal levels at his own determination. The emergence merely enhanced his already natural abilities into wha Brose has.

As I stated, my views may not be accepted as kosher so that's why this was posted as fan-fiction. If Lillith can accept my reasoning, good. The story's status can be changed. However, as she is busy with her own writing and with her Retron Comics, I didn't feel justified in asking her to make that decision. I just wanted to write another Brose story and felt doing so as fan fiction was the easiest way to do so and for readers to enjoy.

I also want to thank Lillith for creating this universe. I hope Brose honors your concept.
