Failure again

It seems I'm not going to finish in time for Short Story Month. I have only about 80% of a story done, and still no idea for an ending.

Oh well.

I think I'll steer clear of story challenges for a while and concentrate on Stephanie. (Episode 24 is about halfway completed at the moment, and both of my readers deserve a better update schedule.)

Okay you might have missed the deadline, but that only matters if you need to win or you're being paid. The idea the contest spurred is what counts here I think, so get it done and be proud of it. I know what some consider one of my best stories ( a Big Closet Classic no less..ummm...) was started as a contest entry that didn't make the deadline, but the story came out a bit later. The contests to me are a way to look at an idea that you might not consider, an angle that's away from your usual, something of a challenge. I don't always, but I always look at them.

Failure? Pah, post it when it's ready.

Ignore the contest-I still want to read the story!

I look forward to reading the story-contest or no! I don't want to delay more of Stephanie's story-I really want to see more of that-but I enjoy your stories, and the more I can get, the better! It isn't a failure at all. Heck, the story I've been trying to write has taken on a life of it's own, and I have NO idea when it will be done! Post it on your schedule-I'll read it!

I heartily agree!

...I have every confidence (past performance in this case is indeed indicative of future results) that the story, however late it might arrive, will once again be superb. Pretty please with sugar on top?

You can jump through the time rift and go back to a couple of weeks ago and post it then. Just avoid meeting your then-self or the resulting paradox could collapse the universe. Or you could wait for the next contest, modify it enough to qualify for the theme (A LOVELY LOVE STORY to A LOVELY ROBOT LOVE STORY, for example) and be the first to enter. Anyway I hope that ending comes to you, whenever it shows up, and you're pleased with the results. I finished a story once, it was wonderful!

More Stephanie?????

I agree, post your new story when it is ready and after it percolates properly and pretty please give us more Stephanie :). That would be simply fantastic and is the only reason I am here for a few minutes this fine morning. It is a sweet story of unexpected amazement at the marvelous nature of femininity and should be completed. We are watching and waiting and appreciative of Stephanie's story so far. But also concerned about what happens to her.
