Back to school, Nanay, Dude where is my muse?

Yesterday was the first day back to school for Palm Beach County students. Once again, I'm parent to a female High School school student. I better keep the rock salt loaded shotgun handy to chase the boys off.

My mother-in-law(Nanay) was admitted to the hospital today. She had a pet scan on Monday and the results showed her thyroid cancer has metastasized to the spine. She's had stage IV cancer since 2006 but this doesn't sound good.

I started to write DHCF again yesterday. Over the previous six weeks I don't think I wrote 300 words. The kids were home for the summer and my muse was stuck in the mud over a couple of scenes. Yesterday I wrote over 300 words. It's a start and I'm optimistic unless Nanay's health rapidly declines.

Daniellle,
Thank you for giving the update on your situation to us. While I and many others anxiously await the next chapter of DHCF, It is not something to try to rush through when there are real world considerations competing for your attention. Let your muse lead you, and we will all be here whenever you have a complete, edited and ready to be posted chapter.
Thank you for sharing with us, your public.
