So, I have been busy getting Soldier Boy ready to send to an Agent. That should be nice. The problem there is, since I am doing that I am not really writing as much stuff. So there many be a severe lull between postings, perhaps worse than now.

However, because you have been so nice, let me post the synopsis of the story. I am hoping that I can get that published and make some money. Enjoy.

The crippling wounds that ended Corporal Thomas Simmons’ tour of duty in Iraq, as well as his military career, closed one chapter of his life and opened a new one, one that was far removed from the rigors of combat, but no less challenging.

Like Alice’s journey down the rabbit hole, everything he knew, or thought he knew about life in general as well as himself suddenly was brought into question. The valor he had shown on the battlefield paled in comparison to the courage he will need in order to come to terms with his new and very different reality. This is particularly true when it comes to his gender, an issue that is a settled question for most people, but one that unexpectedly comes to the fore as Thomas engages in a desperate struggle to piece his shattered life back together. It is a task that is complicated by bouts of Post Traumatic Stress and rejection by a family that is unable to accept the person he is becoming.

In the midst of these tribulations, Thomas finds he is not alone. As he endeavors to build a new life for himself, one more suited for the person he is becoming, he stumbles upon both new friends and love. Unfortunately, it is a love that is as difficult for Thomas to come to terms with as are the many challenges he finds himself dealing with, often leaving him to wish he were still in Iraq, a place that made more sense to him. There things were simple and far less hazardous than going against the tenants of a culture where gender is a simply black and white issue, an issue for Thomas that is anything but.

Thanks.
