There's even a story on the motive of it. Two of them, actually.

This is indeed disturbing news ....
... and likely to lead to panic in the streets of Paris. Which is probably why is seems not to have been accorded any extensive media coverage over there.
But when the penny, or rather sou, does eventually drop ..... Well the mind boggles. One can expect excesses far beyond those that so marked their Revolution. I think Nick would be well advised to defer his visit to the Charente until the turmoil has subsided.
