I know Karen J joked about having hit on it 28,000 times on a slow night, but as long as she read it each time - it's one of my better efforts - I don't mind.

love all your Gaby fanfic!
I've read most of them, and have to admit that it's really confusing trying to keep up with all the fanfic alternate storylines and Maddy's own "official" one. I think yours are the most true to the original storyline, and you seem to have mastered the same voice.

Although i'm blown away that this has had so many hits to put a slight damper on things even the Gaby specials i've posted haven't reached 2000 hits so i take this figure with a pinch of salt!

...that by announcing that fact, you'll only encourage even more people to find it and read it? :)
It's a good little tale, and the characters act true to how they do in the 'canon' storyline - it's something the characters could conceivably have done. I wonder if there's a conveniently sized gap in the main storyline...? :)

One day I'll have to start reading other people's Gaby fanfics for comparison - "Half Term Break" seems to be shaping up to be the longest, it already has considerably more episodes than avilable days (half term breaks are always 9 days long - so to have over 20 episodes suggests that either each episode is less than a day long, or it's covering a wider span of time!)

Gaby's Manx Tale
Much as I love the story, I think that the only reason for the humungous number of hits is that there is a link to it at the end of every Bike episode/chapter.
I have the same phenomena for my Changes (Fancy A Bite?) and Football Girl (Gone With The Wind)Stories where I have huge hits on those two individual stories, but few comments and very few recent votes.

I encountered that effect, too. My Dreamwalker title page link comes up after every chapter of Venus Cursed and is now one of the most viewed pages on the site because of it (over 28,000 hits!). Somehow I don't think that many people are reading a title page! :)
