Author Pages again and a howto

erin's picture

Well, the author pages are straightened out, for the most part. Each author that has one, should have only one and that will be true soon enough.

Slowly, myself and a couple of my editors are building author pages for each author that has more than one series or serial, or more than three standalone stories, or some such. We're not organized about this, that is, we're not doing this in any systematic "start here and continue till done" way. We're just doing it as we have time and it occurs to us that someone needs one of these.

A few authors have made their own. It's not too hard. Use the |++Organizer| link at the top of the page, fill out the page and use your author name as the first part of the title of the page. Pick "Author Page" from the |Organizational| pulldown. Then use the |Outline| tab on the view of each stand alone story, or edit the title page of serials to link each story or serial to the author page. If you get stuck, message me or Sephrena for help. :)

Hugs,
Erin

Odd author page

Erin,

I created my author page yesterday after seeing this blog entry. All looked fine and it correctly listed just my single book.

Just now, whilst checking my pages, my author's page listed every single posting, whether story or blog, whilst I've been a member. I had the same in Seamonkey (which I use for my account) and Firefox (which is for guest use to check what everyone else sees!)

I've gone back in a checked all the right boxes are ticked and saved it, now it works.

Answers on a postcard?

No idea

Haven't a clue as to what you're talking about. Honest. The system just doesn't work the way you seem to be describing so something is being misunderstood. Have you confused the author page with the author listing in the menu down the side?

Errrrrr

Erin,

I'm as much in the dark as you over this. A week ago I created the book to hold my first story. That went ok. Yesterday I created my Organizational page as you described. That went ok and was accessible from the main author list.

Then today, total confusion. I tried the left menu, the author list, and both again as 'guest' using my other browser. Perhaps I should install Opera to give me another choice ;-)

So I went into Edit mode and checked all the options. Preview was ok so saved it. Page looked good in both browsers. All fixed.

Thing is, why did it have a brainstorm earlier?
