Not the usual sort but I've just watched "The World's Fastest Indian" on the BBC iPlayer. It stars Anthony Hopkins as New Zealander Bert Munro who's ambition is to run his old Indian motorcycle at Bonneville speed week. It's an emotional roller coaster that brought tears to my eyes a few times and I strongly recommend it - even to those of you who think a story about an old man and his old motor bike somewhat uninteresting.
Why am I posting this here? Well, Bert meets lots of interesting people in the USA who help him on his cash-strapped way and one of them is the TS/TV receptionist at the rather dubious hotel he first stays in on his arrival in the USA. She comes over really well and plays a big part in starting him on his journey to Bonneville.

It's one of my favorite movies
When I first saw the promos on TV, I thought it would be another stupid motorcycle movie. WOW, was I wrong. I bought it when it came out and must have watched it five or six times already. It has to be in my top ten movies to watch. If you love motorcycle flicks, On Any Sunday, has to be the best as far as strictly motorcycles are concerned. I know many of the people in the film, so maybe that scews my view, but it really is a good movie, Arecee
The best motor cycle film is ...
... "No Limit" starring ukulele playing comedian George Formby :0). It used to shown every TT week on the Isle of Man as it was filmed there in the 1930s and is about the races themselves (perhaps it still is shown. I haven't been to the TT for some years). However, "On Any Sunday" is excellent and I also saw it on the Island. Though the former is probably more enjoyable to non-motor cycle buffs than the latter.
"The fastest Indian in the World" surprised and moved me greatly, though. It shows that 'sweet and sentimental' doesn't need to be only about young love ... or old love for that matter.

Dimelza Cassidy recommended it to me when it first came out, so I know the motorcycle part of it was valid.
Not only a great story, but pretty.
Now for current movies. The best thing going is Up.
If you love dogs you'll laugh all the way through. If you just want a heart-warming movie, I can think of nothing better over the last few years.
