Mellissa Dawn Northe (Prairie Girl)

On June 10, 2008, Mellissa Dawn Northe Passed away quietly. Born in May 1964 this vibrant young woman (ne: Glenn Dale Murray). She was adopted by Noreen and Murray (deceased). Mellissa will be fondly be remembered as a strong willed child, overcoming many challenges and obstacles in her life. She is survived by a brother Daniel. (Unknown Whereabouts).

Graduating High school at age 19, she went on to complete two university Degrees at the U of R and U of S. Her degrees in Political Science and Administration allowed her many opportunities. After graduating, she worked retail jobs to earn extra money to help those who needed the assistance. She attended Night classes at SIAST and completed a degree program in Communication. Mellissa worked tirelessly in protecting victims of abuse.

Diagnosed at age 23 with the debilitating illness of Multiple Sclerosis, she volunteered at the local office. Mellissa whom had multiple disabilities since an early age she never seemed to slow down. Mellissa wrote a published paper on access/transportation in the summer of 2005 and was a media celebrity in the fall of 2006. Her tireless efforts with several agencies to advocate peoples with physical and intellectual challenges over the last 10 years ensured a successful woman.

The Funeral for Mellissa will be held in Lang at 2:45 on Friday June 20th. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday June 19th in the Parish Hall. Pastor Donovan presiding will give eulogy and service.
