I've never lived in Japan but have visited the country. The occasional bits of Japanese in the story are being provided to me by a friend. From 1987 to 1989 while serving in the Navy, I was stationed in the Philippines at Subic Bay.

In addition to living in the Philippines, I've traveled to Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Macau. Other than the Philippines, all those places are settings for DHCF at one point or another in the story. I've stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong but I haven't tried smuggling drugs into Japan.

For this story I relied on my travels and internet research on the locales and customs I write about. Now that Part 6 is published, I'm going to hold back on publishing part 7 for a week. There is a reason. Part 7 is written but not proofed yet. I've just gone through that process with part 6, and its mentally fatiguing for me if I repeat it so soon afterwards. I'll give myself a break from proofing for a few days before resuming it again. In any case, I got to get to work on part 8. It is barely started, like 500 words long at present.

Proofing your work would take time ...

As your stories are often quite long. It is not a wasted effort so take the time you need.

I have to read six now. I have my suspicions that the longer you stay in a new body the harder pychologically it is to change back and maybe even the immune sytem grows to be more resistant to the transformation drug/serium. In their callous milking of Chysananuim for every bit of info they can get, I fear the so called good guys may be condeming the two former men to a lifetime as women.

This would be disaster for the married Japanese cop, maybe not so for Tom as the FIB woman seems attracted to him as a man or a woman. Mom would clearly prefer a more Japanese daughter as much as she loves Tom. But even if they can be and want to be changed back, the longer under cover the more likely a rival Yakuza orwill kill them or the more likely they will be discovered.
