Anyone who's lost faith in Dr Who recently would do well to watch 'Hell Bent', the conclusion to the current series. They'll get it back, my God will they.

Put simply, it had everything. This was an hour during which it was almost impossible to look away from the screen. Not a scene was redundant, not a line of dialogue was wasted. Loose ends were tied up in a manner that was touching, funny and genuinely surprising. There were lashings of nostalgia for those of us who remember the William Hartnell era. To top it all, we were shown proof that the next time the Doctor regenerates it won't necessarily be as a male.

In other news, one of the reasons I haven't visited this site very often during the last few weeks is the serendipitous discovery of a certain YouTube site featuring scantily clad (animated) superheroines, a wrestling ring and hardly anything in the way of razamatazz. I won't post a link here; while most of you are no doubt immune to such temptations, I refuse to be responsible for infecting anyone with a virus from which I'm only now showing signs of recovery.

The other reason is the deviant art site. Now there's a maze that drags you in deeper with every click...

Other non-spoilery bits...

Several alternative theories for "The Hybrid" are discussed, something missing for much of the series returns, while the ending scenes also give the potential for a spin-off series - although, as with the Paternoster Gang (Vasta, Jenny and Strax) it probably won't get made into a TV series, but will remain the preserve of other media.

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Gah! I'm a couple of weeks

Gah! I'm a couple of weeks behind on my Dr. Who thanks to getting sidetracked by a bunch of story series on here :(

At least I know it'll be good when I get to watch in on Monday afternoon.

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

Funny

Capaldi is the main reason I quit watching Dr Who. Mind you, Matt Smith was a bit of a letdown after David Tennant, but there was some good along with the not-so-good. Capaldi is a ham actor, adversely affecting the episodes. I have hopes that the next Doctor is a better actor/actress than him.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.
