Here are three productions that might be especially interesting to us folks here:
CORRECTION - This show is NOT on TUBi, but rather Amazon Prime! Boy Meets Girl is a BBC Two sitcom starring Rebecca Root, Harry Hepple and Denise Welch. It tells the story of the developing relationship between 26-year-old Leo (Hepple) and 40-year-old Judy (Root).
Both Root and her character Judy are transgender, making this the first BBC comedy to feature transgender issues prominently, and the first sitcom to star a transgender actor. Sophie Clarke-Jervoise, the executive producer, stated "we always knew we had to get a trans actress – I don't think we auditioned anyone who wasn't trans for the role. It just didn't feel right."

Hendley was discovered by filmmaker Eric Schaeffer, who sought a transgender actress to play the lead role in Boy Meets Girl. Hendley had been documenting her transition on her YouTube video blog. After watching some of the videos, Schaeffer contacted Hendley to discuss the role. Hendley had not previously pursued a career as a performer, but reading the script and discussing the project with the director convinced her that the opportunity made sense

The New Girlfriend (French: Une nouvelle amie) is a 2014 French erotic drama film written and directed by François Ozon, based on the short story of the same name by Ruth Rendell. It had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 6 September 2014
I haven't seen the BBC TV show YET. I have seen the 2014 film and the French film; both of which I highly recommend!

Boy meets Girl (BBC show)
Is a gentle but enjoyable series. I think that it was well done and without a lot of sensationalism.
I was left wanting more of the same. At least it got made and broadcast nationally.

I actually know Becky, along with Ash and Harry, who have short parts in the series 'Boy meets Girl'. The series was a reward for a BBC writing competition for a new sitcom with a trans element. I came 18th overall, chizz chizz, but that is not why I was a bit off with the winning show. It was written by someone with no obvious skin in the game, and while the cast, in particular Denise Welch and Jim 'Vic Reeves' Moir, do a great job, there is some clunkiness in the writing.
My own entry was a reworking of the 'StD' rugby match chapter, with extra Kelly.
Edited to add: TUBI not available in the UK, And 'Boy Meets Girl' is set in the home area of my character Jill Carter, of 'Too Little, Too Late. and 'Extra Time'
