Since posting Temptation of Anya, I've been busy, but it's a new front for me. I was accepted as a canon author in the Whateley universe, and I've been working on my first foray into that universe. I still have a lot of non-Whateley story ideas, and I'll be working on them, but my intense focus is my new canon Whateley character Kayda. Hopefully chapter 1 of her origin story will be posted officially soon.

Health-wise - things are good. I'm slowly rebuilding my cardio endurance. Headaches - yeah, but it's from eating chocolate. (I know I've got some feminine aspects to my personality because I'd DIE without chocolate!)

What's in my non-Whateley queue? A sequel to Not Just a Fan. Three Bikini Beach tales - one associated with the bachelorette party, one as a 'future reflective', and another non-main-character one. A foray into Titania's dystopian future (Luck of the Draw). A major MAU tale. And more. The idea centers of my brain are working overtime, so fear not - I will continue to write and post.

Blame me

It's my fault there are no new stories. I gave elrod the Whateley Bible and 16k emails of Whateley canon author discussions to peruse so he can say within canon parameters. That seems to be enough to slow down almost anyone.

That's what happens when you enroll in a new school. Enjoy your years at Whateley Academy.

hmm

i thought you went in search of bikini beach

Writing is what you do when you put pen to paper, being an author is what you do when you bring words to life

You can really get sucked in

You can really get sucked in with Whateley stories and Kayda was no different. Many of us enjoyed each day reading a new part and look forward to what is next. I also bet it was a nice vacation from the other stories as well.
Noticed in you list there you did not mention any OpRescue stories...

Also in the queue

The list also includes an Op Rescue story (broken friendship starting with a stupid beer-induced bet over a game)
Two Twisted tales (one in progress, one at the idea stage)

Right now, I'm working on more Kayda tales, and I'm bringing life to Charge, the snobby Beret member. It's fun - and challenging.
And it's challenging to work (slowly) through over 16K e-mails to get the details of plot lines to not step on, etc, ways to fit characters in, etc.

Elrod, you spoiled us!

Between you and Morpheus we had some kind of new story almost everyday for weeks. Now, nothing until Morpheus posts again. The pain, the pain! :)

Don't let him kid you

He's already redone at least 7 parts of Kayda's story for canon review. And gotten Diane and Bek involved in plotting out this story based on Charge. The only thing that could make things crazier in canon row right now would be for certain muses to get hold of the good scotch. Or the bad scotch. Or the Tequila. Or...

Well... let's just say that the muses going nuts is the only way this could get crazier... and we all know how close to the surface that tends to be for the local muse population already.

What's that?

Did I hear you've been ordained a Canon in the Church of Whateley?

Congratulations!

(Just keep writing the stories, okay?)

Penny

Yes, they've determined he's

Yes, they've determined he's the appropriate calibre.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

If I was ordained

then I'm merely a prelate, a vicar, a newbie.

Morpheus was also so ordained. He's got some good characters coming in for fall 2007, and I'm rewriting my fanfic to be canon and published ASAP. I'm working on two major sequences for Whateley, and I've been in conversation with Diane and Maggie about cooperative work between my characters and theirs.

And yes, I have non-Whateley stories in the hopper, too.
