Paragraph

Got up this morning with a paragraph in my head. Finally had to write it down.

Sanford was one of those guys. You know, the ones who can eat anything they want, as much as they want and never gain an ounce. The ones who look great in casual clothes or a tailored suit or just your imagination. Of course, he got up every morning before dawn, did his stretches and ran two miles before breakfast. Yeah, one of those guys.

Obviously, I'm one of those gals who get up in the morning with a paragraph stuck in their head. :)

But I have no idea where this is going, not even who the narrator is. I haven't been able to write much since I've been in isolation, too depressing, so even a paragraph is encouraging. Any ideas?

Hugs,
Erin

And then

I wasn't. I was the anti-Sanford. If I looked at food I gained five pounds. My clothes were either too tight on my hips or too loose in the waist. Shirts slid off my sloped shoulders and a suit? Might as well invest in a gunny sack. I did run but never fsst enough to outrun Sanford and his buddies. Not even two blocks. Thank God for his sister.

Now you're in worse trouble (grin)

I can see a certain direction developing. :)

Who is Sanford?

i.e what is his backstory?
What is his weakness?
What is his flaw?
How many notches are there on his belt?

Then remember... out of little acorns, mghty oaks do grow.

Good questions

But I usually discover those by writing more paragraphs instead of figuring them out before writing. :)

Hmm

A kernel there, is Sanford someone's dream guy?

On Second Thought

Maybe it's more Sanford's fantasizing, before something yanks him back to reality: Sanford, the overweight Asperger's slob, who rarely exercises, etc.

(Sorry if this negativity disturbs you.)

Sanford was one of those guys.

Perhaps take it this way?

Sanford was one of those guys. You know, the ones who can eat anything they want, as much as they want and never gain an ounce. The ones who look great in casual clothes or a tailored suit or just your imagination. Of course, he got up every morning before dawn, did his stretches and ran two miles before breakfast. Yeah, one of those guys.

(And then go in this direction)

"And after running his two miles, showering and eating breakfast... Sanford would put on a matching pair of satin tap panties and camisole and then thigh high black nylon stockings before putting on his finely tailored suit. Sanford was one of those guys."

Not where I usually go with a story but might be fun. :)

Does sound a bit like the narrator of the Tale of Two Freds, doesn't it? I do have an unfinished follow-up to that story (which is here) but there's no one named Sanford in it. :) It's called "Doubled Off Third" if I ever get it finished. :)

my two cents

Sanford was everything my dad wanted me to be. But no here i am eating rabbit food and fish and I still gain weight! I didn't look good in clothes. My hips were to fat as was my butt. I exercised and exercised and it just seemed to make it worse.

Now my chest was getting in on it....

That's one direction

The story could go many ways. :)
