Sophomore Winter, the Tenth book in the Lee Corcoran series, follows Lee Corcoran, who has completed his freshman year in college at the University of Michigan. His life does not follow the typical male athlete path.

While the book is written to allow a reader to enjoy it without all of the history, if you want to understand all the characters and dynamics in their lives, reading the previous nine books is the only way. Long-term threads and relationships tie the books together. These books primarily follow Lee and his best friend Darby, a girl.

As a freshman in high school, Lee became involved in a girls cheerleading program as an advisor and trainer where he was reluctantly introduced to crossdressing. Lee found that he enjoyed the softer side of clothing. As high school progressed, circumstances forced Lee to wear a feminine wardrobe in more and more situations.

One of the key elements of the storyline is that Lee enjoys his dressing while still wanting to hang onto his masculinity. It is an internal struggle which is a constant battle throughout the series. He has no doubts about his heterosexuality and loves the woman in his life.

Spoiler alert [if you have not read the other books]

Throughout high school, Lee dated women, participated in cheerleading, was the starting shortstop on the baseball team for four years, and wore women’s underwear and outer clothes virtually all the time in his senior year. He and his friends accomplished a lot. Lee ended up being the head cheerleader.

Over time, his best friend, Darby, learned of Lee’s preferences for certain feminine attire. Attending a major university, with a scholarship for cheerleading, Lee spends 100% of his time as a female student. An active member of a national sorority, participating in three sports in all three seasons, Lee has taken on responsibility for charity activity on campus and nationally for the National Cheerleading Association.

While Darby and he are a couple, they do not present that way in public on campus. On campus, Lee is living in a girl’s dormitory with other cheerleaders.

The previous book ended after the last regular season football game on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. It is time for Competition Cheerleading to begin as the end of the fall semester approaches. Both Lee and Darby have increasing responsibility at their sorority, school and in extracurricular activities.

Lee worked part of the previous summer as a professional baseball trainer and baseball scout. He plans to continue training players for the Detroit Tigers. The pair have done a lot of modeling and surely there will be more requests for their services.

This story deals with a reluctant [less reluctant by book 10] crossdresser who tries not to sacrifice his manhood while enjoying his unusual choice in clothing.

Crossdressing is dealt with as part of a real life.

Given the ages of the characters, the story does not involve explicit sex.

Young adult readers should be comfortable reading this book.

Amazing Series

I pride myself on the amount of research I do for a story. My latest posted story "Frank, My Dear" involved hundreds of hours of research.

Either Daring Diane knows an amazing amount about a wide range of topics, or she must spend more time researching than I do.

I love her books because of the detail she bends in with a compelling story line and terrific characters.

I do try to do research. I appreciate the comment and hope this next installment lives up to your expectations.
Thanks for reading.

Making it difficult

I should be spending my time finishing the next part of my story. Instead I am engrossed in reading yours! Just a note that book 9 is up to 66 reviews, virtually every one 5 stars.

Thank you.
Yes, Natasha and Boris always referred to them as Moose 'n Squirrel, and I think of myself as sometimes Natasha and sometimes Boris, so it seemed natural. Yes, I am a nogoodnik,

Thanks

I have been looking forward to the continuation of this story for month.
Thank you.

it was very satisfying

I bought it this morning and just finished it.

I can tell that there's been and increase in editing, and a continuation in high quality story.

It was so much fun to read, and I expect I'll re-read it before the weekend is over.

I just have to cry over the ending leaving the dinner and Todd up in the air.

It was really great reading about the charity work. I hope to read more about robotics.

I can't wait to find out about spring modeling and the spring baseball camp. Is Darby going?

That attack on the beach was really scary, and what a surprise to see Helen giving lessons.

I loved to see Sandy and the Chancellor helping out with the charity work. I hope Mike becomes as big a believer as Sandy.

It sounds as though Darby almost came out to Todd, and it sounds like they'll do it before too long anyway.

I would have liked more time with their friends in Florida, the woman who sells Rodino clothes.

The whole business with Cleo is great.

I guess I'm gushing, but there was so much to like in the book, and it just whets my appetite for the next one, no pressure.

The book has a nice dense feel to it, it's not some lightweight book.

It was good to see Maryann get recognition too.

New book

Ready for book 11 when is it coming out hehehe love the series you are a wonderful writer thanks for the stories

Just finsihed it last night

I just finished Cheerleader 10: Sophomore Winter and I loved the book! In fact, I found myself wishing that there was more detail in some of the scenes and interactions. The fashion trips to Florida could have been expanded, and I think that the ongoing relationship with Todd could use more detail and expansion as well. I don't see Todd as a sort of bad guy--I think he genuinely cares (and has fallen for) Lee. If Lee and Darby can't convince him to see Lee as just a friend, there could be some very hard feelings when everything really comes to a head.

But the only things that bothers me is the fact that now I have to wait for Cheerleader 11 (sigh)!

Another Excellent Addition

This is yet another excellent addition to the series. With each addition I become more impressed with Daring Diane's ability to tell a story. She has a way of drawing the reader in and making you join the group of Lee fans. Keep up the great work.

As usual a wonderfull Book

As I have come to expect from DD, this once again was a wonderfull addition to this franchise. I Hop we do not have to wait for book 11 as long as for book 10, especially sine there is kind of a cliffhanger in this part.

On a more personal note: Even though I understand that this Story is focussed on Lee and his experience during highschool and college, I enjoyed it a lot that in this part there were more "short stories" focused on Darby. And even though she voices her continuous support of his choice of lifestyle and clothing, it would be interesting to hear more of her thoughts on this matter. Because people are bound to ask her in private, how she is dealing with this. Especially if his gender should ever become common knowledge. I would imagine that people would not only question Lees sexuality but Darbys as well. Does she realy like men or is she so supportive of him because she is more into women herself. To be clear: this is not my opinion but I would imagine these question would come up, maybe even with some people they consider friends.

None the less I look forward to the next installment of this series.

Best wishes from Germany :-)

Book 11?

I've just reread the series again and loved it (again). I was just wondering is there's any timeframe of book 11?

Can’t wait!

I am very much looking forward to seeing more of this series.

I would also love to see a sequel to “By Your Side Waiting” - it absolutely needs more, both a sequel, and a prequel!
