Hello out there,

I know I should probably be working on Adrian stuff but putting my mind into a 13-year-olds point of view is a bit tiring.

So I've been working on converting one of my stories from a 3rd person point of view to a 1st person point of view.

I don't know if it'll ever make it here mostly because the main character is not trans and I don't know if stories about cis people are allowed here.

It's a sci-fi story about a couple who live in a Smart Town. The smart town is a fully converted Cambridge, Massachusetts, first of its kind. The main character is a programmer who created an extremely sophisticated AI. She and her husband go to the central plaza which is like a huge mall where all goods are located. She decides to get nanobots to improve her already installed implants and it turns out that half of her AI's program is in the implants as they upgrade. This corrupts the A.I.'s program and puts it into self-improvement overdrive.

Meanwhile, her husband is upgrading their home PC to the new quantum pc and surprises his wife with an upgraded VR system too. They get a new game called 'Frozen Box' which is a sandbox game where they lose their memories and don't know they are in a VR system. The main character's husband just so happens to pick a female character and there's silliness till the game starts and they lose their memories. It just so happens that the game uses quantum technology to cause an Inception-like slowing of time while playing.

The two of them still have their AI so they don't know who they are but the AI does.

So that's the setting. I only have around 26 pages written out so far and have converted around 10 pages.

Does this sound interesting to anyone?

I'll just keep working on the conversion in the meantime.

It's Okay to Post Non-Transgender Stories

There are a number of them here. There's even a "Non-Transgender" key word item. The caveat of course is that this is a transgender fiction site, and stories that feature transgender characters and themes are likely to get more attention.

Welcome to the site.

Posting a non transgender story here.

I asked Erin about that once. She said your first story posted here has to be gender themed. After that, it's OK to post non-transgendered stories. But, as someone point out, a non gendered themed story will get less notice.

Go ahead. Write it. Post it here. You can also post it elsewhere. And have fun.

Besides

From the plot, there is a TG scene.

My first post was most

My first post was most definitely Trans themed. I for some reason keep writing sporadically in like 5 different stories. Most of them have some sort of gender twist or at least someone doing something fun with gender.

Glad to hear that I shouldn't have a problem posting the non-gender themed stories too.

Only Five?

:-) :-) :-)

I have around a dozen or two that I'm writing sporadically on.

Love Sci-Fi

Sounds like it’ll be a really good story.

AI land

Sounds very interesting to me. In fact last night I had a dream in which people could program and control their lawn mowers using their phones.

Haha

For some reason, I had the thought of a small doggie door for an automated lawnmower that goes in and out when your lawn needs cutting.

... and now I picture it

... and now I picture it coming in and chasing me around the house while cutting patterns in the carpet.

Seventh-Grade

This reminds me of something from a long time ago -- specifically 7th-grade English class.

The teacher was illustrating the kind of way one would start a horror story about a demon lawn mower.

The Ladies Running BCTS are really great

Sometimes I just can not write one more TG themed story. Well besides the fact I am not a writer in the first place. I've posted non TG stories here and there certainly wasn't a lack of readers if the counter was right.
I'd say if it is fiction then the first rule of writing is to enjoy writing the story. I can promise every author puts a bit of themselves in their stories whether they understand and know or not.

Allowed

"I don't know if stories about cis people are allowed here." Absolutely. Even non-TG stories are allowed here. As Erin says in her Rule 1, just recently reposted here, a story has to go a long way before running afoul of the rules.

I've also heard that it's a good tactic to write a story, and convert it between first-person and third-person-limited. This helps with the perspective, among other things. I hope everything works out.
