Looking For A Title

I have written a story in several chapters which I'm about to complete, it's about a British POW in a German POW camp. They actually formed amateur dramatic societies with males playing the female roles and they were very professional and the 'girls' very convincing.

My story involves a young flyer who joins the am dram society with a view to becoming proficient at passing enfemme. Of course once he starts down that slippery slope he finds that he likes being feminized for other reasons too but let's not give away too much of the story before it's posted.

Thing is I'm stuck for a title. The working title is: The Prisoner Wore Panties but that sounds a bit twee. I played with POW Princess but... nah... I don't think so.

Any ideas?

These are some real pics of POWs

titles

Maybe "Hit the Silk," since he's a flyer who was shot down, but ended up in silky underthings.

Or throw a couple foreign words together for "Stalag Ingenue."

Schmetterling

That's German for butterfly, with the obvious connotations of rebirth as something beautiful. And to explain the title some lovestruck Nazi could call her that. That's the best I've come up with so far...

Several ones I rejected:
Hogan's Hussies
Burlesque House Five
Camping It Up
Fraulein Jones (or whatever character's last name is, shouldn't sound German)
How Did You Spend The War, Mommy?

How About. . .

. . .Isn't War Hilarious?

Jill

Angela Rasch (Jill M I)

How about

"Joining the Stalag Sorority"

There is a similar story.

This sounds an awful lot like "A different kind of freedom" by JulieO. Have fun writing your story. I hope it comes out well. Just please be careful that it's not to similar to the other story.

Jessica Marie.

Titles

Stalag 36C? (Twist of the movie Stalag 17)

Helen's Heroes? (Twist of the TV show Hogan's Heroes)

The Grand Illusion (from the movie of the same name)

Titles?

erin's picture

"Belle Behind the Wire"
"Beauty is a Prisoner"
"Silken Prison"
"Captured in Silk"
"Ladywings"
"Dame of Die Lagerstrasse"

Lagerstrasse was the name of the main street in some camps. Rough meaning: Lading Street or Supply Road (not literal meaning).

That gives me an idea for a title ...

Speaking of "Belle Behind the Wire," how about this for a title ...

Barbara Wire

Pam Anderson movie

Pam Anderson movie in the late 80s? Sci-fi remake of Casablanca with Mad Max overtones: "Barb Wire".

Anderson had more success ...

... doing her beach blanket bingo bit with David Hasselhoff, 'cause I don't remember that movie at all. And I like really obscure SciFi movies like Darkstar -- "Pilot to bomb."

It was a flop from 1996 based

It was a flop from 1996 based on a comic book series...it would have been a decent "so bad it's good" if she could actually act.

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

Kind of hard on Pam :)

erin's picture

Kind of hard on Pam (but understandable) to blame her acting when the production values were so poor and the script lost track of the story midway through. But you are right that it did not achieve so-bad-it's-good status and probably could have had they used Pam to do more of what she was actually good at. Whoever told her to play the part like Clint Eastwood on valium must never have really got a good look at her.

The few scenes when someone actually seemed to be directing, the actors did credible jobs. The US video cuts of this are particularly bad because they left out most of the scenes that a person would go to a Pam Anderson movie for. :)

There is always hope

It could show up on Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

I can see it now ... the robots start singing "I've got you babe" in honor of the poster.

You may wish to check out a story on Fiction Mania called "The Crossing" the main character is in a similar situation. If it not to close in nature then please write it. My suggestion is "Femme Fatale from the Skies' or maybe Parachuting into Femininity .

opinor ergo sum

Charlotte Van Goethem

Ummm...

How about 'Curtain Call'???

Prisoner Of...

... Wardrobe...
(Or, if you can find, any other word for something feminine starting with W... But, I can't find one at the moment...)
PS: in the first picture you can detect "male" only if you know what to look for... Very good presentation at a minimum! (Probably some intersex or gynecomastia condition?...)
Or maybe... Panties Of War?... My mind is overflowing with get word starting with "P", add "of", and a word starting with "W".
Anyway, straightforward "Prisoner Of War" was not used in any of the bestsellers (AFAIK)...

And yes...

If it is about a theater in the POW camp... "Prisoner Of Wardrobe" looks like a good idea! (for me... but It could be integrated into the story with half a dozen of lines...)
...
On the other hand...Theater by POW for POW? Sounds like R&R for weary fighters. And POW camps for US and UK pilots, looking at the stories, were a joke. While thousands of Russian POW's were killed by starvation or outright slaughtered per day... US and UK POW's were disturbed by playing females in the theater... How many of those "thespians" would have preferred death by starvation?...

Story

I believe the story (novel) you are looking for is “Fight or Flight” by Tanya Allan.

My Suggestions...

Beverly Colleen's picture

Parachute Princess.
Soldier, Your Script is Showing.
Trials of a Theater Temptress.
The Perils of Panties.
I Stayed at a POW Camp and All I got Were These Panties. (yes I know, that one is a little wordy.)
Deadly Darling.

A variation of an earlier suggestion: Jumped Into Satin.

K. I'm done! Have fun with the story writing!
