Sadly, I report the death of Denise A. Trask on April 1 in Milan, Italy of a cerebral hemorrhage. Denise was seventy seven. At this time, I have no information regarding funeral services.
Denise was a well known author and patron of this site. Denise collaborated with T. D. Aldonetti, author of Air Force Sweetheart, to write the sequel, Duty Calls, which Denise continued after Teddy’s death, under the non de plume of Renae A. Dumas.
Denise also wrote Last of the Fey under the pseudonym Anesidora’s Urn, which she later published under the name D. H. Trask.
Most recently, Denise and I have been collaborating on the pentology Terra Infirma. We had just completed the first volume and had begun seeking publishing agents.
I am sure we will all miss her

Seventy-seven is a good run. Much longer than most. I hope she is a peace.
Sad news
Thank you for the sad news. She is one of my favorite authors. I reread her stories often.
I thank the messenger
but dislike the message. I shall miss her, her wit, her laughs, her advice, but most of all, her companionship.
May she truly be in a better place now.

Denise was a very god friend.
I will miss her terribly. In addition to being a wonderful author, she helped me through some very tough times. She always kept me on an even keel, and pushed me to look ever forward - she helped me to learn that although our past shapes who we are, that we are not locked into being one thing. Her ever present helpful attitude and encouragement were instrumental in my finding not only myself, but in finding it within myself to forgive; to forgive myself for my failings, to forgive myself for not being a better person, and to forgive myself for not saving those who I had promised to bring home.
She taught me that no matter what shape or color we are, that no matter how we are raised, no matter who we are, that we all have something to offer in this world.
Her presence in my life was a quiet, gentle reassurance that someone cared and understood what I had gone through in my past - and that there was a path that I could safely travel into my future.
Her writing was not only entertaining, but always intellectually stimulating. I will miss reading her new works, and even more, I will miss our discussions on them.
My dearest friend Denise, I will always miss you and will think of you often. When you get to that big O-club in the sky, look for my boys and tell them I miss them too. And save a seat for me. For I will be along soon enough, but not just yet - for I still have things to do here. Tommy, you and the boys take care of and watch over Denise, like you did for me. She is one of the good ones.
Denise, you will ever be in my thoughts and prayers, and please forgive me for crying over losing you.

Last of the fey was the first story I read here
Denise's story, "Last of the fey", was the first story I ever read on BC and the reason I kept coming back. I cant remember how I stumbled across it anymore. Now I'm hooked, of course, but I will miss her writing and I'm sorry there won't be more of it to come.

Unfortunately I never saw her stories and Amazon doesn't seem to have it anymore. Does anyone know where her free stories reside, or where the Last of the fey can be purchased?

You have to take down the free version to publish. I have both versions luckily.

I am greatly saddened to hear
I am greatly saddened to hear that she has passed on. We had some arguments, but that had nothing to do with how well her stories were written. I hope it was painless, and that her business interests were cleaned up from the mess they were a couple of years back. I recall that she had to come out of retirement due to other partners dying.
I was looking forward to another story from the Last of the Fey universe - but that shall not be, I suppose.
Thank you for the information. It's better to know, than for the silence to be deafening.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

I have to admit I never met her, and at this moment I feel the poorer for the lack. She obviously affected many for the better here, and I wish her spirit well.

As far as I know, I never met Denise. I'm not sure if I've read any of her stories, under her actual name or any pen names.
As the title of Nagrij's comment states, I hope that she is resting in peace.

Never had the honor
I never had the honor of meeting her and mourn the death of an author I admired and respected. It is always terribly sad to hear of the passing of such a bright light but I, and I'm sure many others, thank you for passing the news to us. Too many times one of us just vanishes and no one ever knows why or what happened and though I will likely shed a tear when I read her name on the roles of the honored dead I am glad in a way that she will be there, and in that way live on in our memories.

Had the Privilege...
...of working with her (remotely, of course) editing the last half of Last of the Fey, and was hoping we'd see the follow-up to it or to Teddi Aldoenetti's Tranquility: Sorcerer/Sorceress eventually. Sorry to hear of her death.

I never had the privilege of meeting her, but Last of the Fey was one of the first ebooks I bought from Amazon, and I greatly enjoyed Duty Calls. I had always hoped both of them would be continued, and I'm sad that will no longer be the case. May she rest in peace.

I never new her. But I found her book "The Last of the Fey" on Amazon. I have read it many times, and have eagerly checked over and over to see if she had published the sequel. Alas, it will never be written now. I have read a number of her posts here and got a small glimpse of her beyond the story she wrote.

Darn! I loved that story. Good thing I bought a copy of it. It kept me entertain for hours. I was thinking on writing a story similar to it, because I loved how it combined the magic and technology into the wings.
