The state... of confusion.

Alright, first let me say I've been sick for about a week now with pneumonia. Nothing too serious, but enough to slow my writing down. I also seem to be hitting the other end of my manic spike, but I'm fighting through that. An update of DP&D should be up in a few days, and a new Vagrants book is almost ready for amazon. (I am writing the extra chapter, but of course I was slowed down a bit, so... *shrugs*.)

I have a question though. How many of you out there know what Patreon is, and how to use it? I was advised to start an account up there and so I did... but have no idea what I want to do with it, or how to run it. No idea if it will even help anything. I have a vague idea of giving people gracing it voting rights on what story I update first each month, but no idea how to even run such a vote, or even if such a thing would be welcome.

Interesting thought

I was looking at Patreon as an option over Kickstarter for novel funding myself recently. Unfortunately, when I started running the numbers; I realized that the amounts of funding individuals offer would either require a LOT of patrons (over 1200 for the equivalent of part time, 20 hrs a week writing/editing; and over 2500 for full time work) or the amount contributed by individuals would have to be orders of magnitude above what they'd normally pay for a book.

Still, it might be an alternate way to do some marketing...
