The news isn't good. Jeanne's heart shows some damage that, at least for the moment, takes her off the liver transplant list. But according to the doctors, it's kind of moot because the government figures who is most eligible for a transplant by three blood chemistry numbers--and Jeanne's numbers are too near normal to make her high on the list anyway. The three numbers represent kidney function, liver toxicity and blood clotting and Jeanne is just barely out of normal range on all three of them. So the heart problem has some time to be worked on, as soon as she recovers from this bout of illness. Right now she has pneumonia which affects the heart tests anyway, so they aren't completely sure just how weak her heart is. The angiogram showed some lesions in her arteries but these may respond to medication somewhat, maybe enough to get her back on the list. Angiplasty does not looklike a good option or even heart bypass because her arteries look too fragile right now. It's all day to day anyway and she's still so far out of it with fever and ammonia poisoning that she's conscious only for short stretches and not even lucid then, mostly. A month ago, she seemed mostly fine, just weak and tired. This is all pretty hard to take. {{hugs}} - Erin

Words are frail creatures to convey the support and sympathy I would have you feel. Words are all I have right now. Caring is what makes life worth it. It comes with a cost, but one most of us gladly pay. Love to you and Jeanne Tyrone
