Fem It Up

I work in a help center for a major computer software developer. In fact, just recently I was promoted to be the head of this department. We answered questions of our customers and helped them work out any problems they were having with our software. Most problems were easy and quick to handle, but there were also ones that tried our patience.

There were rumors of a shakeup in upper level management and some promotions that might be in the offering. Our company was going through some tough times, increased competition and some personnel that were not qualified for the position they held in the company. Most of these employees were ones that were hired by friends or family members that were already employed by the company, a practice that was commonly used until recently.

My name is Yves Thomas. That’s Yves, as in Yves Saint Laurent and Yves Montand, who were famous Frenchmen of the 1950s and 60s, or so my parents tell me.

Apparently neither of those two, unlike my parents, was actually born in France so that makes three of us. My surname might seem typically British but it’s possibly even more common in France.

38. Punishments

….I stood for what felt like ages before she returned with two bundles of light blue satin and lace. It was going to be a long afternoon!

‘Ahh’ she said ‘look at you waiting like a good girl for your dress fitting’ and chuckled

I just pulled a sarcastic smile. I was sure she had tidied her hair and touched up her make up while I was waiting, she looked gorgeous and definitely looked more striking since I first walked into the shop.

The first dress was lowered into an open ring on the floor and I was instructed to step into it.

35. Playdate

December 28

It was three days after Christmas. I’d sent all the thank-you letters and finished all the left-overs. So now I could relax for a few days before the New Year’s Eve binge with my drinking mates.

And that thought set me thinking about the New Year and, for some odd reason, New Year resolutions, things I’ve never really given any consideration to, but perhaps I should. So for the first time, I did, doing a rapid assessment of how my life was going. Were there any facets of it that could do with improvement?

8. Day two begins

As Alex woke up, he felt the warmth and heaviness of his wet and messy diaper. He blushed slightly, but reminded himself that it was all part of the experience he had willingly embraced. As he looked around, he noticed Emily and Hayley, the counselors, standing by his bed. His sister Sarah was also there, looking at him with a playful smile. "Good morning, sweetie!," Emily said. "Did you have a good sleep?" Alex blushed and mumbled with his binkie between his teeth: "Um, yes, fank you. Good mowning, Emily."

Cass hovered above a shoulder, or more precisely, peeked over it as they only reached a few inches above five feet even when shoved into boots.

Whereas in contrast I could hardly fit in the chair and had to lean way over to type, seeing as how my knees would never fit below the ridiculously tiny desk standard to each small and drafty dorm room.
