It was the dead of night as the young catholic schoolgirl skipped across the parking lot. The old asphalt with its many cracks was still giving off heat from the long hot summers day. Mom drives and we’re quiet at first as we drive through the rain and pass buy a few places mostly chain food places. Some’s not bad I like Dairy Queen and Burger king if for burgers because a good burger should be flame broiled. A&W is good buy shy works there and so that’s out of the question. We actually settle for Fu-lamb’s Kitchen a mom and pop Chinese place.

I like Chinese and it’s one of those foods where you have the places around but you just don’t end up eating there often.

It’d been a long damned tired trip from home to Chile and I’d thought that I’d left all the excitement and the drama of America behind me. Well guess not, I just came to find out that South America was still an America of a sorts.

Just as wild, and just as filled with its own dangers. Like the tsunami that hit here a week or so ago. I wasn’t here but riding through the countryside the last few days I’ve seen plenty of things that really show the power of nature.

I’m not sure how long Karin held me there into her chest but she didn’t move or push me away and she was even crying too for awhile then I could sort of tell even while I was crying that shift in her as she got a hold of herself and took one of those shaky but big centering breaths and there was this shaky sigh as she adjusted herself to wrap her arms around me in a better way.

I muse for awhile in the shower getting good and clean and getting a bit more familiar with myself in that suspiciously long shower way. I’m convinced even more that girls very often getting a little happy in the shower considering how long they take in there.

And it’s an odd thing to know but I’m kind of good with it especially that sort of after glow thing because really even though it’s not morning it definitely gets me in this sort of happy headspace. Especially when I’m thinking about what Kaylee and I could do in a shower.

A new character, one who is especially well-connected in the Village is someone that Christine feels that Andy should meet.
