Newbie Question #3 On patreon and paid content.

Forums:

First off let me say I am sorry about my double post. I could find where my topics had ended up at first and that had confused me.

Anyways, my question is this. What is the policy on making stuff patreon first. What I am getting at is I plan to start a serial story I will start releasing it for free. But if it is any good/well received, I hope to be able to support myself by having a patreon donate-per-release format where patreon member get first access to it and everyone else would have to wait a week of two. I was wondering if this would be ok?

Patreon and Stuff

We have more than one author that uses Patreon to do this sort of thing. They offer different forms of early access to a story before it's posted publicly.

We here at BigCloset have no official stance on it. We do have our own publishing company DopplerPress (and several other imprints) that we use for helping authors Publish via Kindle/Amazon and soon other channels. We split the profits and pay to have the book edited, covers made, and do promotions for authors (advertising and such).

No policy

It is not BCTS's business what else you do with your stories.

That said, we help authors monetize their stories by publishing them through DopplerPress. We pay the upfront costs of high quality editing, cover art, book design and promotion and split the royalties with the author. Most books published through DP have appeared on BCTS for free. This is working very well for some authors whose books have proven quite popular.

More importantly, where

More importantly, where should links to Patreon go? In an afterward of the story? In a comment on the story? Don't want to ruffle any feathers but also want people to find my Patreon.
