What pink background color behind which text? What system are you using and which browser? The only pink background color I am aware of is in the header. If you are talking about the burgundy background that has been appearing on some tablets, with some browsers, we solved that problem a few hours ago and all you need to do is wait for the caches to clear. We've cleared the caches on our end but there are ISP and local caches that will have to expire.

And no, you can't change the background color because that is a can of worms we are not going to open. Sorry. We may in the future offer a simple black and white version of the site but have not had the time to design one yet.
