Pushing the Limits- Part 6

This took a lot longer than I had hoped and expected…mainly because this story is a lot longer than I thought it would be- so this is actually the first half. As always, please read and review. If for some reason, you haven’t read the first few chapters, make sure to go ahead and do that before you read this one. The next part should be up soon.

Chapter 6: A Romp At the Mall

“Woohoo!! Way to go, Evan!”, Katy practically cheered the next morning as Evan entered the store for the beginning of his shift.

Evan stopped short and turned around. “ Huh? What’re you talking about?”

“Savannah told us about last night….we made our sales goal because of you!!”, Katy said, her breasts bouncing and practically overflowing from her top as she moved towards him.

“She always does have to run her mouth about something”, muttered Tonya, suddenly appearing next to Katy.

“Oh well….it’s not really that big of a deal..I mean I like working with customers”, he said, trying to sound nonchalant.

And I really like our merchandise, he found himself wanting to add.

A slight creaking sound was heard from the back of the store as a door opened, and then shut.

“Oh good, you’re here”, Savannah said, as she made her way up to the front, casting a smile at Evan. “Tonya…go head to the stockroom now”.

Both Tonya and Evan looked somewhat bewildered.

“But I thought I was scheduled to do the backroom today-“, Evan started to say.

“Are you kidding?”, Savannah asked, tossing a strand of dark hair over her shoulder. “After how well you did last night? Hell no…Tonya’s doing the stockroom today and you’re staying on the sales floor”.

Tonya cast a quick glance of disdain at both Savannah and Evan, before stomping off to the backroom.

“Stupid”, she said in a low voice, as she walked past Savannah.

All morning, Evan lived up to his apparent reputation of a model sales associate by helping every customer that case in- just like he had the night before. At one point, Evan even found himself carrying their shopping bags around the store-not that he minded in the slightest.
The whole time, Savannah and Katy stood by near the registers, watching in a state of awe.

“Wow….”, Katy said to Evan, once things had slowed down, and they were all finally alone in the store.”I almost didn’t believe it when Savannah told us, but OMG…. it’s like you have a gift!!”, she said with a giggle.

“Ha…yeah are you sure, you aren’t gay?”, Tonya scoffed, walking up to the rest of them.

“Tonya- is shipment done?”, Savannah asked pointedly Her voice had a fake sugary sweet tone, but the glare in her eyes was unmistakable.

‘Oh whatever, Savannah!!!” Tonya practically spit out. “Everyone knows that only reason you get away with this shit is because Mommy owns the store”.

“Actually, all I know is that our sales are up, and your numbers are down”, Savannah shot back. “Evan is number one in sales in the store right now, which is why we’re going to keep him on the sales floor”.

“Are you sure that isn’t because you think this is your chance at him?”, Tonya hissed icily, getting closer to Savannah, who’s faced had become visibly flushed. “I got in two hours ago …I’m going on break for a smoke”, Tonya said icily, as she walked out of the store before
Savannah could reply.

Number one in sales, Evan thought quizzically. That seemed pretty damn amazing. Guess Evan’s secret fetish really did lend itself to his performance at work.

Savannah kept her gaze fixed on the store entrance that Tonya had just walked out of. She put up a good front, but Evan could tell that she was still at least somewhat shaken by her confrontation with Tonya.

“Are you ok?”, Evan mouthed once his eyes met Savannah’s, his voice barely above a whisper.

Savannah gave a quick half nod before directing her attention to Katy, who had been busying herself with folding on a nearby table. “Katy, can I have you check on the fitting rooms?”

“Sure thing!”, Katy replied with a smile, as she looked up and headed over to the fitting room area.

“So….shopping?”, Savannah asked a few moments later after Katy had left the two of them alone.

She began idly straightening a pair of panties on a nearby table, while Evan stood there weighing his options and trying to decide what was the right thing to do.

“It’s not that I don’t want to..”, he started to say honestly. “ Because….God….I really do”.

“Just a few hours”, Savannah countered, as her eyes held his gaze.

She still sounded in control as usual, but Evan noticed the subtlest tone of eagerness in her voice.

She wants this just as much as I do, he realized. Which was saying a lot….since he wanted to so much…..more than he was willing to admit to himself.

Before Evan could fully grasp what was happening, he heard himself once again complying with her request.

“Ah…fine. What could a few hours hurt?”

As soon as the words were out, Evan’s mouth fell open in shock. What the heck was going on here? What kind of hold did Savannah have on him? It was almost hypnotic….

“I thought so….I mean you seem to be enjoying your new stuff…based on the your pics”, she said with a sly smile, as she slinked off towards the registers.

The remainder of Evan’s shift seemed to drag on…he could only imagine what Savannah had planned for him this time. And the anticipation was starting to kill him. It didn’t help that business was a little slow this morning.

He helped a few customers, but there had only been a total of about 4 or 5. Then again, it was early … Still Evan couldn’t help but feel a sense of self-consciousness around the female customers that he usually ended up becoming subservient towards- especially the two girls he had helped earlier and seemed to be giggling the entire time about a guy working in a lingerie store.

Finally, it was one o’clock, and the end of both Evan and Savannah’s shifts had arrived.

“Hey…you ready?”, Savannah asked, coming up behind Evan and causing him to jump slightly. “Wow...look at you….so excited”, she giggled, raising an eyebrow.

“Ha….oh whatever”, Evan replied with a nervous laugh, trying to brush off the fact that he had startled so easily.

Evan turned to glance at Savannah. Although she was wearing a plain black shirt and dark jeans, she still manage to look cute. Savannah had left her hair down today , which she currently had brushed over one shoulder, as she idly twisted a strand.

“Where’d you have in mind?”, Evan asked, his high pitched tone once again returning.

It really shouldn’t surprise him anymore…in fact, he should’ve expected his voice to change around Savannah…but that was what seemed to make it all the more embarrassing.

“Why? Scared someone will see you and find out your secret?”, Savannah teased, as they walked out of Hidden Desires together.

Actually, Evan hadn’t thought about that.

“Well..now that you mention it”, he began, as his mind started to briefly consider the possible implications.

“Relax”, Savannah said, rolling her eyes as they started down the escalator to the lower level of the mall. “I don’t think you’ll run into anyone you know here”, as she led him into a store called “Wigs by Ellie”.

Evan hesitated a moment before entering the store. Savannah noticed and turned back to look at him.

“Is there a problem?”, she asked, raising an eyebrow. Evan knew that arguing was pointless, and shook his head in response.

“Good”, she said smoothly with a smile, as she leaned into Evan. “Have you ever bought a wig before?”, she asked with genuine curiosity.

“No”, he answered, trying to not get too distracted by her sudden flirtatious behavior.

Evan still couldn’t figure her out. Cool and in control, one minute…and then sweet and flirty, the next.

“I thought about it….you know, around Halloween”, he went on. “But I just never…”. He let the sentence drop, not really sure what else to say.

It was true that he had considered buying a wig in the past….even going as far as actually going into a store and looking at them. But he never went through with it. Buying lingerie was one thing…but a wig was something a little more extreme. He always felt a bit uncomfortable and self-conscious when he bought anything related to his secret fantasy. Plus, wigs were expensive- especially the ones that were decent quality.

When would he wear it? That would entail actually dressing up fully, which he knew Chloe probably wouldn’t appreciate.

“Kinda creepy”, Savannah said in a low voice, nudging Evan, “All these heads”, she muttered, gesturing to the numerous mannequin heads displaying wigs in the store.

“Yup”, Evan agreed. “I mean …I guess its necessary …but they do kind of stare at you”, he said, with a giggle.

Savannah and Evan stayed close as they both scanned the wigs- and heads. A lot of them were on tables scattered throughout the store, but there were many more displayed along the walls as well.
Evan noticed that the wigs in the store at least seemed to be made well…not like the cheap plastic fiber ones sold at party stores. With so many choices, Evan wasn’t even sure where to start.

“So…what do you want to be? Blonde, brunette or something else?”, Savannah asked, moving away to examine some of the wigs on the wall.

“Blonde I guess”, Evan answered, shrugging his shoulders. “Since that’s my hair color already…it’ll probably just make things easier”, he said, as he quickly ran a hand over his hair.

Savannah turned and glanced up at Evan. “What color is your hair anyway?”, she asked, raising an eyebrow.

“This”, he replied, pointing at his hair, as if he was stating the obvious.

Except that wasn’t exactly the truth. His natural color was a strawberry blonde- with a hint of ginger that he wasn’t particularly fond of.

Even though he was technically a bleached blonde, he figured it wasn’t too noticeable since he was naturally fair skinned and had light eyes. But once again, it seemed that Savannah had found another one of his secrets that she wasn’t about to let go.

“Underneath all the peroxide”, Savannah demanded with a smirk

Evan sighed. “Blonde still….with a little red. But I swear, Savannah…”. He didn’t finish the sentence.

What was the point? He had nothing. And did it even matter now?

“Haha. ..so you’re a ginger! And you actually dye your hair to cover it!!!How very girly of you”, Savannah teased.

“You know it”, Evan said, rolling his eyes as he turned away from her to hide the fact that he knew his face was flushing with embarrassment, especially since the high pitched tone in his voice return after her last remark.

“Oh my god…..look. They actually have names!!”, Savannah pointed out, motioning for Evan to come over.

“What? No way”, Evan said, with a slight chuckle as he glanced at the name tag of a mannequin head with a long brunette wig with bangs. “This one is Jennifer apparently”

“Here’s Michelle”, Savannah said , eyeing the blond wig displayed. “What do you think?”

“Hmm…not bad” , Evan said, turning around to look at the wig. “That’s my sister’s name actually”.

The wig was mostly straight except for some waves towards the end and reached a few inches past the shoulders. But Evan wondered if it would end up getting in the way because of the length.

“Seriously”, Evan said, as Savannah raised an eyebrow skeptically. “Might be a bit too long though”, he went on, as he inspected the wig further.

Evan and Savannah stopped in front of a head with a jet black straight wig cut into a retro flip style. Evan reached over to inspect the name tag.

“Jacqueline!!”, both said in unison, followed by a fit of laughter they shared together.

“Oh.. my.. God…”, Savannah said, in between giggles. “Not exactly my mom’s style…wouldn’t you say?”, she mused, after recomposing herself. “Or yours either”, she added, looking up at Evan.

“No?”,Evan asked, pretending to sound disappointed.

He quickly glanced around at the other wigs on display, before his eyes landed on a shoulder length , straight blonde wig with sideswept bangs.

“How about Staci?”, he asked, nodding his head towards the mannequin head in the blonde wig on the shelf.

“Good choice”, Savannah said approvingly.

“Yeah?”,Evan asked, feeling slightly awkward and nervous. “I mean… yeah”, he said, trying to sound more confident and hide his nervousness.

“I like it”, Savannah said, confirming his choice. “Are you Staci?”, she asked in a noticeably low but playful tone, moving close again.

“Uhh….you mean do I have a girly name for myself?”, he clarified, feeling his cheeks grow warm and his heart rate start to quicken.

If he was already nervous before and Savannah had sensed it (which she clearly did), then she knew just how far to push him without driving him completely over the edge.

“It’s…Erika”, he said quietly, trying to steady himself. “With a K”.

“Cute”, Savannah commented. She moved away and briefly turned to glance at the wig again. “Any particular reason you picked that name?”, she asked, turning to look at him again.

As usual, her hot and cold demeanor confused him- but at least, he managed to calm down a bit.

“Honestly, I wish I had a good back story on it..”, Evan started. “But…really I just wanted a name that started with the same first letter as my real name. The K is just to be unique”, he said, with a giggle, causing him to become slightly self-conscious. “Isn’t that ..uh…what most cross
dressers do?”.

Suddenly, a young sales girl who appeared to be of Asian descent and in her early 20’s approached them before Savannah could answer.

“You guys doing ok over here?”, she asked, sounding somewhat bored.

Evan started to feel nervous again. Where did she come from?? For a brief moment, Evan worried that this girl had overheard their conversation, and knew his secret. But no- as he gave her a second glance, he realized that she seemed overall pretty uninterested in her job, as well as the customers.

“Yeah, thank you”, Evan said quickly. “Uhh…Savannah…we should probably get going here”, he said, as he cleared his throat to get her attention.

Savannah quickly nodded her agreement. “So…I think we’ll take the Staci wig up there”, she told the sales girl, gesturing with her shoulder in the direction towards where the wig was displayed.

Her tone was as calm and confident as ever, causing Evan to feel a mixture of both surprise and jealousy at how at ease she remained during the interaction. Then again, Savannah wasn’t the one who had anything to hide, or be worried about.

“Sure”, the girl said in reply, as she walked over to the wall.

She pulled the blond wig off the mannequin head, and made her way over to the cash register. Evan and Savannah followed .

“So do you ever get…weirded out with all these mannequin heads around you?”, Evan asked, trying to make conversation, as the girl rang the wig up.

The girl broke out into a smile and giggled at the question.

“Ha, yeah. Sometimes I even find myself talking to them”, she answered, as wrapped the wig in a hairnet before placing it into a shopping bag.

Savannah nudged Evan in the side at hearing the girl’s response and mouthed the words, “I think she’s serious”. Evan stifled a laugh, as he pulled out his wallet.

“Oh, and also…”, the girl said after Evan had paid. “We usually have our customers sign our book for our records”.

“Wait..huh?”, Evan said, caught off guard. He could himself start to blush.

Even though he knew it was probably just a store policy, he was paranoid of having his name and any other personal information on record.
How would he be able to explain buying a wig??

“I got this”, Savannah said slyly, as the girl placed the book on the counter.

Evan watched as Savannah wrote down her phone number and expected her to put her own name as well, but saw instead that she scrawled
the name Erika. Evan tossed her a sideways glance in response, as they left the store.

What is it

With the "ginger" thing? People in the UK seem to go bonkers over redheads. I know there are fewer natural redheads than natural blondes (like me!) but to call a blonde with some red undertones a "ginger" is pushing the definition way out of shape. In the U.S. a natural redhead is a plus in the looks department. I favor blondes, always have, my late partner had what you could call dirty blonde hair that faded nicely in the sun. But a natural redhead has always been able to turn my head.

Well...

Evan is based on an ex of mine who was a closeted crossdresser, and he actually was a natural self proclaimed "ginger" but always had dyed his hair. We did go wig shopping together but he ended up buying a wig that was similar to my hair style. I guess its good that I at least have the experience to draw on
