Serious adulting done today. I went and got my oil changed, my air filters changed, and a new wiper blade put on my car, then I went downtown and paid my speeding ticket.

Its not normally the case that i would be celebrating spending close to $ 600, but I feel a lot better about things with those tasks taken care of.

most of that was for the car stuff

oil change, transmission fluid change, air filters, and wiper blades - total cost over $ 400. the speeding ticket was just over $ 100. add in parking downtown and I bought some popcorn, and yeah, about $ 600 total.

Just think that

In a few years time, Lube Jobs (on cars doh!) will be a thing of the past when we all drive Leccy cars or as some are predicting, very few of us will own cars at all and it will all be 'ride hailing' type of thing or being a member of a car club.
I know that for some, they'd rather be burried with their pickup with the big V-8 block than go electric but that's the way things are going.
I've gone part of the way there with a Plugin Hybrid but this time next year, I'll be driving a 100% electric vehicle. No more Oil changes!

Find me an electric...

or a hybrid that I can fit into and be comfortable, and I'll make it my every day car. I've checked most of them, Prius, Volt, Leaf, LeSmart car and the others, and there is exactly zero way for someone who is 6'3" tall to fold themselves into one, and not have your knees up around your ears. Never mind having the carrying capacity for a wheelchair rack on the back.

So, until then, I'll keep my big block V-8 pick em up truck, thank you very much.

Yep, know the problem

I'm 6ft 2in and yes, I have issues with many cars due to my long legs.
I drive a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Plenty of space in the back for a wheelchair as well. I should know as I had my Mothers one in it earlier today. This is now available in the USA. I've driven 36K miles in mine. Most of the time I charge it using Power generated by my PV system.
Also takes a folding bicycle.

Ha, yes!

It does feel good to accomplish something that one would rather put off, even if it is something relatively trivial. On a roll, there Dot :)
