My doctor recently upped my trintellix to 30 mg and now instead of just the occasional nasea it’s all the time with a lot to vomiting usually after I eat at least 25% of the time and the rest is just random times throughout the day. It does help some with the depression and may even help with weight loss with all the vomiting I’ve been doing. I’m not sure what to do, is this medication worth it?

Depends on how life is without it

If you live in a ste wher marijuana is legal or can be perscribed I would suggest that It is often used to surpress nasea from chemo. maybe you doc can suggest an anti nasea med, they do exist Stomach acids will damage tooth enamil over time.

I wish I could helpmore ...

No it isn't!!!

Stop taking it and tell your doctor. It's an allergic reaction to the meds.

Be very carefull with psych meds.

In too many cases just going cold turkey causes depression worse that what it was before. Carefully read instructions on how that kind of medication should be discontinued.
All mood improving drugs (antidepressants included) list suicide as one of the side effects...
Truth be told... Russian antidepressant of 0.5 litre of vodka in the evening with good food for zakuska (have no idea what is an English word for the bite of food you take after drinking a shot of strong alcohol...) is better and safer than anything you can get from the pharmacy.
PS. Anecdote. Somwhere in the depths of Siberia. AA meeting. "Hello, I am Ivan, and I am alcoholic." "Hi! I am Sergey and I am alcoholic." "Good evening, I am Peter and I am alcoholic." "Now everyone is introduced, lets drink to our acqitance and friendship!"

'all the vomiting' will only result in temporary weight loss and could lead to esophageal ulcers. I speak from experience. And whatever benefit that could be derived from the medication are likely strongly outweighed by the stress your body is already undergoing.

Dosage

The dosage may be extreme. Studies were on 5, 10, and 20mg dosing. The information above indicates that 20mg pretty significant. I didn't see any info on the levels you were prescribed. It also says that if the patient cannot tolerate the dosing the patient should be reduced to a lower dosage. You should seek a second opinion on your dosing levels. At the very least seek the advice of a clinical pharmacist.

Hope this helps,

Not at that level

and probably not at all, with the nausea and all check with your doctor or maybe even try to have a new doctor if they continue that way.

Hope your health improve soon.

In USA...

It could be a good idea to find a good "ambulance chaser" lawyer and get couple of millions of dollars from the clinic for the doctor using untested and unsafe dosages for medication...
Every little bit of extra cash could be used for the best antidepressant called "shopping" (recent studies show that shopping is even better than sex...).
:-)

In USA;

Hehe... I just read a article about the smartest layers go for the class action lawsuits, because they make more money that way. I agree shopping is the BEST antidepressant there is, UNTIL you run out of money... With my 100% Veterans Administration disability FINALLY here, only took NINE FREAKING YEARS!, I have at least 2 quarters I can rub together. Just spent $9000 on my '97 Cadillac DeVille, new steering, sealed engine, new head studs (NOT FACTORY,Cadillac head studs fix, windshield, tint, and a bunch of other things. New Shower Enclosure, New Vanity, New Floor, New Toilet for our master bathroom. $60,000 into "The Trust account," the money grows, and I get a $600 check a month. VA Check went from $534 a month to $3000 a month. What a relief! I just threw out all my old undies and bought new, nicer ones. New Stockings, new garter belts, new corsets. The money was cathartic in the relief it brought us. We are able to pay for our own TV and internet now, 'The Orville' ROCKS btw. Bought my step daughter a 2009 Toyota Camry XLE (Leather, Navigation, Bluetooth, ...) found a deal, it only had 27K miles, and I got it for WAY under blue book. After all this.... I find out Bupropion (Wellbutrin) side effects include 90% of what I'm suffering from.
