Another Anti-Lgbt organatization has started hating on people.
The American-Family-Association(AFA), is a little late joining on the dissing of Trans-girl in scouts, and they want them out.

But, there is serious good news, the GSA (Girl Scouts of America) instantly defend the Trans-Girls, as both belonging and girl that just have to take a more unique path, that scouting can help them with.

That says to me that GSA, is willing to stand up to the hater, that think those girls do not belong. That is a large step in the right direction of the proponent of this web-arena, we want there to be support for the younger generation, even more so then the support we our selves got or are currently get from the community at large.

This is a most positive change because Girl Scouts of a America was not even letting in Trans-girls as of 4 years ago. And now they are actively going out of their way to defend their girls both born and transitional, with equally strong fervor. So, if I may say so, "you go girls".

GSA defends Trans-Girl rights
Can you pick out the TG?
Can you tell, which girl was born a boy? I thought not.

I like it! Its a good start but there needs to be follow through. Removal of church group influences on these organizations or implementation of non-religious organizations that would instill equal values, social skills, encourage physical activity and civic participation/responsibilities. a youth group that is not defined by gender/ religious affiliation/ social standing. A group that would teach not only skills of urban nature; social etiquette, arts, local/state governing; but also outdoor activity such as hiking, biking, equestrian, backpacking, boating. There is more to life than xbox/Playstation. After all, isn't it worth it to teach kids proper table manners, or how to dance with each other without falling down. How hard is it to walk around a local park and point out which flowers are which? What about local history, surely there are places in town that meant so much to it? Instead of updating their social media with "bored" or "drama today" and selfie on the toilet, why not something like "learned how to dance! rode a horse! found out why that old building on Main and Elm is so important!" and pictures of beautiful scenery? Just an idea, but then again, what the hell do I know.

Confused

Are you saying that the Girl Scouts should do the things you are suggesting? If so I think you need to check out the main website and the sites of local councils because they already are.

If you're saying that the only good youth organisation is one with zero religious influence then I must disagree because the Girl Scouts are able to do all those things in some cases with the Promise as the only link to religion.

Four years

I didn't believe that 4 years ago the GSA was stopping trans-girls from joining, I thought that 2011 was the first time they publicly advocated. Because the organisation is driven by people at a local level it's possible they've been Girl Scouts for years with no fuss or media attention, I've looked into it a few times and all the fuss seems to come from outside the organisation.

Girl scouts has been far more liberal and accepting

than boy scouts for many years. I don't know if this is still the case but because of boy scouts discriminatory policies, they were banned from using public school facilities in California several years ago. Girl scouts were welcome.

Once the BSA National Council came out as gay haters...

they lost a lot of their long time sponsors and funding sources. CFC, the Combined Federal Campaign, dropped them as a recipient. A number of schools wouldn't allow Boy Scout, Cub Scout dens to meet on their properties, and not just in California. The US military, who were proud to sponsor Scouting activities pulled their support. The National Council had this stupid notion that homosexuality was the same as being a pedophile. Stupid neanderthal throwbacks.

But it does sound like there is a glimmer of hope. The board chairman is urging the National Council to give up the ban on gay adult leaders.

Wish I knew more about their stand on transgender persons, but FtM isn't nearly as common as MtF. Or, maybe I should say, not as visible.

Less negativity

Lets all look at the positives and say yay for the GSA.

girl guides in the UK

Dunno if the girl guides allow it in the UK, they should. Fondly remember as an awkward teenage boy staying on at a camp where mum was a leader. Such a great organisation and I had a great time , all the camerarderie and games but I was kept at a distance, pity I wish I could have been fully a member and a girl!
